    Ritzy,
May God bless you both with proper medications and care takers. God, please help our friend, Ritzy, during this troubling time. Give her wisdom to take care of herself, too. In Jesus name we pray.

    Lotti,
Thanks for putting it on the prayer list too. I'm sure there are some that don't follow as many threads as I do.

Ritzy.....sent you a personal email. Hugs, my friend! Be sure to update us!

Heather.....also sent you a personal email with my phone number! I'm all packed and so exited to be flying out tomorrow. But, I'm still a little worried about everyone (including my roommates who are driving) that are traveling during the terrible weather that you are having. I know Ricky's flight through Dallas was cancelled. Poor Dallas! What a mess!

Luann....I love the lining fabric of your bag. I forget the maker right now, but it has been one of my favorites! The bag is going to be great!

Dawn, I could kick my backside! I was going to put binding over each seam as I made them, so it would be totally reversible, but I got caught up with getting it together and now I have a beautifully quilted bag that has exposed seams. I can make a lining, but I really had wanted the "lichen'? blues for reversing. Dadnabit! Gotta watch that auto correct when I'm quoting the locals around here,,, I have put it on hold until I decide what I'll do. I used double batting and kept my quilting density to a level of giving it some stability. Oh well, I guess
This is an opportunity for a creative alternative (Heather, do you like my fancy way of saying that I'll come up with a plan B?)
I think I have a sinus infection, low grade, but my teeth hurt way up high next to my cheekbones. So, maybe I'm just delirious,, my DH would ask, And this is different from every other day how? My humor is still alive, even if it's warped,,,
No retreat time today, hope to be back at the machines come Monday.

Luann, I think that you could still put binding on the seams of your bag. It would probably be a bit easier if you just unpick a couple of inches where the seams meet at the base, but other than that I don't see any real difficulitybesides turning the corners.
By the way thanks for showing what a mondo bag is, I have been reading about them for a while now and wondering about it. I actually came across the pattern years ago and have a very large version that was intended for taking towels to the seaside, but it came out huuge, so it is more usually used for putting Izzy's clean laundry that need ironing in

            Rosemary,
I think you're right. If I just pick out a few areas of stitching, put the binding on both sides at the same time, then when I do the next seam it'll all get covered with the next piece of binding. I just hate 'unstitching' any amount, but I really did want a reversible tote.
This one is made with each of the sides starting out at 8 1/2" by 26 1/2". The next size down is 6 1/2" by 18 1/2". And I bet you could do a Mini version at 4 1/2" by about 12 1/2". I used the printed interfacing on my first one, but just cut the quilted pieces to the size that's listed for linings.
I have another purse project that an acquaintance requested. She bought the pattern, then dropped by for tea!! I've tried to let her know that just the cost of materials would be almost $65.00 US and as I said to her, and that's nothing for my time,,, she assured me she wanted it done, and I agreed to have it finished by Christmas. I'm not going to follow the patterns directions completely, as I have the longarm and I'll utilize it for some of the work. I'm going to make it how I would want it, so if she decides she's not fond of it, I can keep it for a gift for my sister. She'll only be out the cost of her pattern at most.
Off to church and then skimming thru the Craftsy classes I grabbed for October.

              Luann...Love your bag!!
Lotti..I want to go there! Looks very peaceful!

Surgery is set for tomorrow, so been very busy getting a quilt top done before hand. It's a simple attic window, and I'm hoping to get it finished today...not sure how to quilt it yet, but happy with the progress so far. Will try to post picture later.

Dorothy, good wishes on your surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Luann, here's an idea for your seams in your mondo bag. Take a note from Wendy and whizz some fun fabric strips, pretty yarns, etc onto the edges of the seams. It will be a kind of furry edged bag. Just a thought.

Finally! I finished something! I've been in such a snit lately. I hate that.

This is the class work we did at the thread painting class last weekend. I learned a lot, had my butt kicked, and actually enjoyed myself. I just wanted to get the flower onto the background. Thank goodness for Wendy's whizzing around the edge. This certainly is not a fabulous piece, but it is done!

And I will do more thread painting. I even FMQ the background! :woohoo: I could feel all of you sitting on my shoulder saying, "c'mon, you can do this!" Thanks you guys...

Off to see Victorina Rose Tuesday!! I'm so excited! :silly:

                  Take care my friends....

It's great, I love everything about it. The edging of course and your embroidery and the background. Well done!

Kiss your baby's toes for me. I love baby feet

I am so frustrated! Since I got Windows 10 all my pictures come out sideways! Even though they are straight on my file. And TQS won't let me change the picture.
So please look at the picture sideways. The background goes left to right, not up and down.

                      Thanks, geneva

Geneva, Your flower is beautiful. It looks like it's floating in water. Nice work. Cuddy that baby. You can't spoil a baby by holding it too much. Enjoy!

Geneva, I love your flower and I love that you stepped out to do something different/difficult. It's an inspiration.

I've just had a new grand-baby and I had his quilt all ready in time! Now, I go into my sewing room, and wonder around and touch a bunch of stuff, and then cut 6 squares, realize I don't know what I'm going to do with them, and then turn the light out and just come back upstairs where several hand projects are staring at me. Wish I could eat popcorn, because I'd have that for supper. (is that the kind of snit you've been in?)

My dear son #2 is donating his kidney to a family member on Thursday and I can't help thinking 'he's my baby' even though he's 37. And here I am the recipient of a transplant myself. Wouldn't be alive if some one else hadn't died (besides Jesus too) But I'm still his mom. And he's alive and it's going to hurt. Of course, I am proud of him to the moon and back.
He's firm that he doesn't want to be 'coddled', which means my presence is optional. Not sure he will let me hold his hand.
Should I drink wine? Not supposed to do that either - oh ya, I should pray. Been there, done that. I'll try again.

                            Thank for this retreat.

I just read over 30 posts and it is hard to remember who said what. Ritzy, I will be praying for Loren and for you.
Luann, love the bag. Beautiful fabrics.
Geneva, congratulations on Victorina Rose. I hope you get lots of kisses in while you are visiting her. Love your flower (thread painting). Beautiful!
Terrie, congratulations on your new grandbaby too. I will say a prayer for your son too. It is a very charitable thing your son is doing. I will also pray for the recipient. I know how it feels to pray and not get the result we would like. I trust the Lord knows better than I do.
