As an anniversary present my husband sent me to a very lovely store to buy an outfit. They are being married on a dock on a lake in northern Minnesota. Guests will be seated in pontoon boats at the end of the dock. Here's what I'll be wearing. No fasinator with this attire.

Barb, we are seeing some of the smoke from the Wenatchee fires. I hope it's not like last year's fires. It's been way too hot here. It was 111 Sunday. Ugh!

Thank you everyone one for your good wishes for my birthday , I have had a wonderful day.
The weather has been glorious if a little too hot for my liking, but not as hot as some places in the USA.
Hope those fires are under control.

LuAnn, loved the first quilt, but I agree, the finished needs something. I would leave it hang for a few days and maybe something will pop in your head. Love Milk Duds too. And chocolate caramel cups too.
Judith I will take some of the tea too. Make mine sweet. I have the sugar addiction too.
Lois, love your outfit for the wedding. Don't forget some insect repellent too. I love northern Minnesota (we are going early August), but they have lots of mosquitoes and biting flies. Or flies here, are aggravating, but they don't bite. Happy Anniversary!

I am working on another portrait quilt. Check out Lea McComas in the classroom. This is a copy of the last one I made and gave to a cousin. I forgot to take a picture of that one. I will be sure to take a picture of this one. This is for the sister of the cousin who got the last one. I told her not to let her sister see it until she got hers. Gotta keep them both happy.

Hello everyone,

It's cooler today. Only 100 degrees! A good day to stay in a watch my grandson and then spend the afternoon sewing.

I finished the quilt top for my niece's wedding quilt. I bought the backing and will layer it and start quilting tomorrow. I only bought the backing and background for this quilt. The rest came from my stash. I'm not sure that is a good thing! :blink:

Here is a picture of the entire top. It is 42"x31". Sorry about the light from the side. It must be the transom window.
