Terrie, prayers for your son's recovery.

Wendy - went to your pintrest board - you seem to have a lot of cats in your kitchen :S

Luann - Lois is right, start a thread in the correct section (there is one about dyeing) and the Lounge Lizards will find you, answer your queries, chime in regardless, and then probably get diverted about what they/we are talking about  Just imagine the conversation around a kitchen table with a bunch of pals, only this way it is a huuge table

I've got a bunch of wall kitchen units for putting up in my sewing room, once I have cleared space to get them up  . And then I will have some extra storage for putting stash away :woohoo: and will probably be using the doors for displaying my muggies and my (vegetarian) chicken pie :cheer: (eventually)

why would you put your vegetarian chicken pie on your cupboard door? All that storage will mean more shopping! :cheer:

I've got a lot of cats on my bed, on my keyboard, on my ironing board and everywhere I want to go, doesn't everyone

I'm so relieved Terrie it's not serious damage. I do hope he recovers quickly and ouch!

Marilyn you'll find it interesting and Luann I'm sure those talking about it over there would love to see your results as well as here. Be a shame for them to get lost in all the babble on this thread.

Can you show us how they turned out after rinsing. I just love hand dyed fabrics.

I've got to hide the new stash some how and my Chinese whispers quilt will do the job nicely, beside which it will take up less storage space that way

Terrie, I am praying for your son and delighted to know that his vertebrae are not broken. My son in law had a motorbike accident 3 years ago and fractured 2 vertebrae in his neck and had other fractures. He was in a specialist unit for long time and was fitted with a "halo". One fracture in his neck didn't heal so he had to have an operation to fuse the neck vertebra. He's back to doing almost everything he did before the accident except riding motor bikes. He is so lucky. Hope your son recovers soon.
                  Best Wishes Pam

Well, here is my latest finish for this year. This was a kit that I bought from Craftsy on sale at the end of 2014. It was only $30.00 and included the pattern and all the fabric for the front. It is Kaffe Fasset shot cotton. It is a Lynda Milligan pattern. I added the color lines in the borders. The shot cotton is not that easy to work with as it has lots of flaws and ravels very easily. This quilt will go on our couch. The backing is a batik and is the color of our couch. The piece in the back was made from leftovers of the front. Plus I still have more leftovers! The finished quilt is 78" x 56".

What a great deal! I have a bunch of sale kits from Craftsy, Connecting Threads and Keepsake Quilting that I need to get to some day....

It's a beautiful quilt. I love your addition of the lines in the border. They add so much interest! And your quilting is wonderful! I love how you are playing with thread colors.

It's beautiful Geneva. I love the lines in the border it really adds to the look. I agree with Nancy the threads are pretty.

I didn't know the KF shot cotton acted in that way. Thanks.

I love it to, Geneva. I have a bunch of the shot cottons just waiting to figure out what to do with them. Seems like the first thing might be to starch the livin daylights out of them. Any pointers?
