Your Bonnie Hunter quilts are fantastic! I've never been interested in doing the mystery quilts with the zillion pieces and the timing is all hard for me. But I liked last year's and have the directions all saved. I have fabrics pulled (never made a dent in the whole scheme of stash...) and have cut part 1. I'm using it as leaders & enders for now but will need to put serious time into at some point. ha!

I really like the colors you chose for your quilts.

Your quilts are beautiful! I am going to participate in the Grand Illusion mystery. It will be my first MQ & first Bonnie Hunter quilt.
I think the 'new' is based on your # of posts, not any particular date.

Beautiful quilts. I also saved last years instructions and love the look of it, although wondering about changing up the colours or not. I am part way through doing her scrappy trip around the world for a back for a quilt, but since I've got to make myself a cocktail dress for next Friday :woohoo: , I certainly won't be touching any quilting until after then ( actually I shouldn't really be messing about here either - I've got a pattern to draft first  )

Sharon, your quilts are beautiful! Do you do all of Bonnie's mysteries?

Those are beautiful quilts, Sharyn, and I, like Nancy, love the colors. I did Bonnie's Mystery Quilt last fall for the first time and had a lot of fun. I also learned a lot because of the repetitive tasks involved--my piecing improved substantially. I'm going to save her instructions and do her new mystery quilt later in the spring, possibly, because I'm pondering whether I want to do it in different colors and want to see the finished quilt to select them.

I haven't done any of Bonnies mystery quilts, but I did save the instructions for last years.. and I'm tempted to start on that one next year after I retire. I haven't decided if I want to try this years MQ yet. I usually don't like making something where I don't know what it is going to look like, so I may wait until she has posted all the instructions and then decide if I want to save them.

I love your Bonnie Hunter quilts. Haven't done any of hers but have been thinking about trying her new one this year. After seeing your quilts I will definitely do it. Do you use her color suggestions are do your own thing?

I am trying to post a photo again. If this doesn't come through then I would really appreciate it if somebody who has been successful could tell me what I am doing wrong. I went to Attachment-Open (from my photos)-Add File-Insert. The attachment is on the same page just below where I am typing. Now I am going to try to submit. Here goes....

Well that didn't work, again! This time I clicked Attachment - open - insert and submit. Still not working. What's the secret folks? I think we need some simple tutorials with this new website. And I am definitely needing the rolling eyes emoticon here!

thank you for the compliments. I did my first bonnie mystery in 2011 I think, I started 4 months daily radiation for breast cancer November 1st that year and I thought doing the mystery might help me take my mind off that. I also did it as an exercise in following someone else's directions ;0 although I didn't use her colors. I like complicated quilts so I wasn't worried about that, and cutting, which I always hated before, was a cinch, going about it in a common sense manner starting with cutting strips.

link to this years mystery if anyone is unfamiliar with it
http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/grand-illusion-mystery.html so far all we know is fabric requirements, the first clue will be releaased November 28th, and each Friday thereafter until all the clues have been posted.

The next year I challenged myself to use blue, my least favorite color. I now have zero problems with blue!
That went so well, the next year I challenged myself to us pinks, no problems there anymore either Although now pink is a positive feeling color as whenever I see it, it reminds me how lucky I am.

Last years is only 1/4 finished, I started it at a extremely stressful time, couldn't concentrate well, and made some mistakes.
I've decided to turn it into a quarter size quilt for hanging on the loft banister and be done with it.

This year I'm following her colors for the first time. Kinda...instead of lots of blacks w/white I'm using one black with green, and instead of neutrals I'm using one white w/black. And I don't have any Teal so have the color chip in my purse and will pick up some fat quarters before we get started.

This is Easy Street, from year before last.

Reetz, that is what I'm doing although it looks like this one went in as an attachment rather than inserted image...
second trry didn't upload at all, third try worked. Clicked on ADD FILE, double clicked on the image from my comoputer, clicked INSERT.

Rita, I just posted a photo--added the file like you did, but after that I clicked on "INSERT" and then the picture came up. So ADD FILE (pick you photo) and then tap on "INSERT" then "SUBMIT." You will see in the editing screen that the attachment shows up in text as it used to in the old system. Hope this helps and that I was not confusing--still drinking first cup of coffee...

Another one I liked was done in Christmas fabrics

Judy, the citrine and gray play so well together--the colors of this quilt are astoundingly beautiful. Definitely a combination for me to remember in the future! B)
