This one seems to have a lot on her mind.

She morphs as I go. I wanted to embroider my favorite things. Thought I had. Then it just didn’t look the way I wanted it to. Back to the embroidery machine. I had an artistic vision, but not the skills to execute. I’ll get there, but not today!

Ok, Alex, here is my first face! My personal challenge was to let go of realism. Also, just giving myself permission to use my fabrics in a whimsical way was huge for me! I have been stashing for awhile but not using without great care and planning. This was a great exercise ! Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent!

I am through with my face and working on my background. I've included a Row by Row Fabric-Plate from a few years ago from a south Georgia quilt shop with the words "Sew Blessed to be Quilting." That is so true. I've also got my first name

tag for the Wiregrass Quilter's Guild of southwest Georgia that I have been a member of for over 20 years. The picture is of a quilt I made of my grandson, and I was fortunate enough to have it in the AQS Spring Paducah Show and the Daytona Show in 2018. The Georgia applique with the Cherokee Rose, the state flower, represents where I'm from. I've included some butterflies, a flower and a hummingbird--beautiful things from nature that inspire some of my quilts.

Thank you Alex for this face challenge which has taken me out of my comfortable box and helped push my creative limits. I will be making more faces! (I hope this photo isn't sideways!)

                    Kudos!
