I have affixed my cutouts. When I die I want to be a Ginko Biloba (maidenhair tree). In the meantime my avatar is chatting with the chickens, enjoying a cuppa and being silly as a clown. This has been so much fun, will have to do another.

This isn't me, but it was good practice. I'm next. This has sure been fun. My creative self had been hibernating for a bit, but this got me going again.

Very cute! How are you able to get your picture right side up. Once in a blue moon (a couple weeks ago) my photos when in perfect, since then they are always rotated.

you'll just have to tilt your head to look at the pic. I give up trying to get it in upright!

I have a pug on my shoulder because of our one year old Walter. If he isn’t right by us, you can be sure he’s into mischief.

The face were never there—Alex found them on the internet by Googling Doodles. The pages she provided are shapes she drew. Just look at the face shapes in her show and draw your own, or Google.

This is like eating popcorn!!! I can't stop!
After thinking of so many topics, things of importance, themes for my face, and auditioning various items, I realized I needed to focus and limit what I was trying to say. So after I listened to my quilt, it's message emerged: save a lot of things for a future collection; and indeed, they will be relief projects when I need a break from other things I am working on. I want to do a family of origin face, one for my husband and his Harley, a gardener, an Acorn one (the school I retired from), a nature girl, etc. etc. etc.
As for this first fun face, I am SEW RETIRED! (Since May.) On the left are two symbols for my career, The Acorn, and a book for storytelling. They are on the "uphill" side of my shoulder. On the "downhill" left, and surrounding my face, are symbols of my retirement. More time to sew,

bike, motorcycle rides on the back of the Harley, gardening, feeding the birds, watching the butterflies. Symbols on the figure itself include the garment, which is an old piece from "The Quiltmaker's Gift" fabric line, the subtle roses on the nose (get it?) and of course, the big hair!

Everyone's creations are so wonderful! It is so fun to see them all. Thanks again, Alex. Can't wait for Monday's information on adhering and quilting.
