At the top or bottom of each forum thread there is a button that says either subscribe or unsubscribe. It is in between the reply topic and favorite buttons. I also try to remember to unsubscribe so my mail inbox doesn't get swamped.

Also just noticed that just below this box I am typing in...just above the submit button is a box that is checked that says "check this box to be notified..." so be sure to uncheck that box if you don't want the notifications. otherwise go back and use the unsubscribe button.

I am so anoyed with this as I do not want to have to take another step by unsubscribing every time I make comments on the forum.

Jilly you can go into our profile and change all the notifications from there. If I remember it's options then preferences then you get the notifications button and you can untick the boxes

Wendy, thanks for this bit of information! I had no idea that these controls existed. Let's see now if the flood of email notifications ceases...

Is this different? Didn't we always get an email notification when we commented?
Maybe it's annoying because there is more action right now with lots of comments to notify about.

I have gone into my settings to not be notified of new posts on threads I comment on, and saved it, and I still get notified if I don't click on the checkmark box while typing or clicking on UNsubscribe if I forget to do the check box. I had asked about this a couple of weeks ago, as I don't want my mailbox full of emails saying someone has posted. I would rather have to select the threads I want to be notified of, rather than all of them.

Karen, on the old site, we would get a notification if there had been any activity on a thread we had posted on, but usually it was only once (per day?), even though there had been several posts, until we went on there again. And then we had to go to the thread to see what had been written. I much preferred it that way to the new one. I am working on making sure I am unsubscribed all over the place, because I usually come on and read everything anyway, and I would rather spend time here on tqs than in my mail box deleting everything.

Well on the old site I did not receive any emails regarding the forum, I received the daily blog emails which I love.

I have re worded this comment as I re read it and saw that I was not making any sense........
