Thanks to everyone for the experimenting. I will purchase a Kindle and see what I can figure out. I will also talk with my webmaster and see if an app is possible for the new website.

      John,
I was doing fine on my Kindle Fire--I could watch the shows, but could not watch the DVDs, as you had asked us to check out. Now, as of about a week ago, I am unable to watch the shows (and I still cannot watch the DVDs)! What gives? Are you all experimenting with the Kindle and still don't have a solution? Last week I had no problem... Would love to hear from you with what's going on and if there's anything you want me to try, I'll be happy to. Thanks!!!

Renata, are you home in VA? If John says nothing changed, could it be the rain we had last night impacting your service provider? Just sayin' ...

Hi Susan, I'm home. Don't think it's the rain because the problem with the show has been going on for over a week but I'm not having trouble with other videos outside of TQS and no problem with the service provider. Right now I can do everything on TQS with the Kindle except watch the shows (which I was able to do a week ago). I'm hoping John will have a logical explanation. In the meantime, we had unbelievable storms here yesterday and throughout the night! I know there have been a few water rescues not too far from here. All okay in your neck of the woods?

As far as I know everything is ok! Not being a TV watcher, I've haven't heard the news & haven't had any warnings on the cellphone from the weather service since a flood warning, but I'm not in a very flood prone area. We just had lots of rain. There are patches of blue sky now. I hope your Kindle gets straightened out.

Thanks, Marilyn! I don't have HD, I have first generation Kindle Fire so it could make a difference. Hope we can get it working again. Don't think it is the provider because everything else is working. I am actually sending this from my Kindle... Loved your Chinese Whispers quilt, colors were fabulous! :P

An update on my Kindle Fire, in case this helps someone else. The problem was not the provider. I spoke with the Help folks at Kindle and they got my device back on track. It is possible that, because of the changes the TQS website has gone through, some of our Kindles may not recognize the videos because the internet industry is going through changes too. I don't even understand what that all means, however, the Kindle folks had me do two things and I am back to seeing both the TQS shows AND the DVDs.

The first thing I did was to go into ALL APPLICATIONS and cleared out my data. Yes, you lose bookmarks and other stuff, but it was not a problem for me. When I went back into The Quilt Show, I was able to watch my shows. This helps in case you download apps that react negatively with whatever else is on your Kindle at the time. For example, I had tried to download an updated Adobe Flash Player which is probably what made my system get mucked up.

I still could not get into the DVDs, like the two Miller DVDs that are available for watching right now. To solve this problem, while logged into The Quilt Show, at the bottom of the screen, where there is an icon with several horizontal lines, I tapped on that, found the browser and changed it from "automatic" to "mobile." Now I am able to watch the Quilt Show DVDs and am also able to select exactly what Chapter I want to watch.

The Kindle folks were extraordinarily helpful and did not stop until we had the problem solved. Very happy with their support so that I could get back to watching Quilt Show episodes on my Kindle.

As I said, I don't even pretend to understand what all this means, but I hope the computer experts like John and Bob will be able to interpret all this and make sense of it. I also hope it helps anyone else who is having difficulty with their Kindle. I am now back to watching my shows on the Kindle. Thanks to all who tried to help!

Thanks, Marilyn, on your comment about the hen and rooster! I'm dying to ask questions too--so many new things to learn from each others' quilts! and now I wish I were in Loch Lomond...

Go, Renata! Thanks for the persistence with Kindle Help. I'm going to try this on an older device and see how we fare!

                            Renata,

Thank you for the update on the Kindle Fire. My Kindle HDX 7" arrived and is working great. I can get the DVD by Margaret Miller and the shows. I did find that the Full Screen icon did not work but you can just swipe your fingers to enlarge the picture. Also, the Closed Captioning worked fine. I found that the Smilebox doesn't work. I'm surprised because they work on the iPad without Flash!? However, the puzzle worked great. The new "magazine" approach worked and the zoom was great if you held the tablet horizontal and tapped a picture twice to enlarge it.

We are leaving our current video player and are now switching to using Vimeo for the shows and YouTube for everything else. This was because I would hear people say they had trouble with our videos but could see YouTube. That is our most recent change (and is still going on).

Keep us updated on anything new you figure out and thank you for your research so far.

This is good news for Kindle HDX7 owners. I'm still all at sea with my Kindle Fire, however, as I stated in the very first post of this discussion. Any news for us?
