I'm meeting with our player people today to see how we can instantly make things better. Is it TQS and how we make the video or them?

I am also going to Alex's Dad's house to use his computer. He has a Mac laptop and uses Safari. He is experiencing some of the same problems you have mentioned.

There were 2 main reasons we wanted to use this new player.
    1. Large screen so we could see the stitches and even small monitors had a big enough picture to see.
    2. It makes it easier for Ricky & Alex to make a quick video and put it up right away. Before we had to send it to another person to render it, put it in Flash, and then put it in a player. Now we can upload it ourselves and put it on the blog right away. We are not restricted if our other person doesn't work weekends. However, if it is blurry and out of sync, then it's no help.

Alex, give John a hug please.

Tonight I have spent 6 minutes going 2 minutes into the video. A rather plastc looking Alex took 30 seconds to say the letters T Q S to a featureless Ricky!! Not good.

If there is one thing that has been hugely lost (apart from the time thing) it's the clarity. If you are doing this to show the stitching better, then I'm affraid I haven't seen a stitch, an applique, a block or very much a decent quilt in months. Lots of blurry impressions, but not what I had before.

And yes I have the latest Flash, I'm on a new computer on Windows 7 and I have tried the old format, the new slow format and the new fast format.

I've just watched the Oodles and Doodles You Tube John. It took 5.20 for a 1.31 video.

I've watched other You Tubes this evening with no problems.

I've just gone to Design Matters TV and watched a 7.56 minute video. It took 7.56 minutes to watch.

John actually talked to a human being this morning who is now on the case - while this gal is trying to figure it out we decided to go see the movie Date Night for a laugh- sometimes better than a hug. ( it was hilarious - loved Tina Fey and Steve Carell)

I just watched "OOdles of Doodles" and it was just fine. I'm using Google Chrome as my Internet explorer, maybe that makes a difference? :?

We are working on testing a new coding style. It looks like this new style solves the problem of our iPad users and may make it better for others too. Today I will accompany Alex's Dad to the Apple store. He has a 5 year old Mac with OS 10.4.11 that others are having trouble with. Hopefully they have some good ideas.

We have uploaded Becky Goldsmith's show #611 in the new code. If you have an iPad, please give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

I tried show 611 on the iPad. The video is watchable but still blurry at times. Especially with fast movement like when Alex was touching the fabric and making swirls with her fingers. The intro blurred around the edges of Justin.

I am not sure you will get the blurry effect out. No flash player on iPad.

The show is working fine on my MacPro. :-)

I, too, am having the "steamy window" effect in the videos. This is the only site it occurs on. It actually appears that some pixels arrive at the screen ahead of others, if that makes sense. Then the audio is very erratic, with people still stuttering and pausing then hurriedly saying the words to catch up with the video. I have excellent speed on our internet line, so I really don't think it's our service. I hope you can solve these problems. I'm sure that, if the clarity and audio problems are solved, the new larger picture will be much better.
Thanks to all of you who are working to make this work.......
