    Show Techniques Program

Can someone please explain what is meant by the "Show Techniques Program?" There is a pdf posted of a cover for your binder of show techniques. Which shows are part of this or is this just a generic reference to all shows where someone demonstrates a block? Is there a list of specific shows falling into this category? I am a Charter/Star Member but tend to watch in spurts-I apologize if this is a dumb question….smiles-Michelle

They originally started something called 'Little Scraps of Magic' . I think it is just motivation to try a new technique, on a small scale, & then keep our samples in a book. I tried one & did my machine applique letter backwards, so I didn't go further. LOL

Michelle, no question is a dumb question. If you are wondering, there are probably others who want to know also. Be patient, someone should be able to answer you. But not me, so I don't know if Carol's answer is the correct one or not.

Thank you both! I had noticed that Priscilla Knoble's kit that was offered through TQS in limited quantities was supposed to be part of "Show Techniques." The kit features a design that was not shown during the show although each element of the design was demonstrated (the house and vines). So that led me to believe that "Show Techniques" blocks were posted in another part of TQS and if you needed help in making your block, the pattern would refer you back to that show where the techniques were demonstrated. From the very beginning of TQS the guest artists and Alex and Ricky have always demonstrated various techniques, so what's new? I suppose I am thinking that Show Techniques blocks may be like BOMs….

I think Carol is correct that this has to do with the Little Scraps of Magic referred to on the Daily Blog from time to time. I have not myself done any of these but I think the binder was to hold these samples. In a recent newsletter:

it was announced that the name would change - it seems we didn't quite get the drift what this was all about - but it seems it has not really been followed up/through. Maybe this will all come clear once the new web-site launches and there will be a tab/button or something to make it easier to find.

There are several of this squares that let you try a technique demonstrated on the shows. Yes they started out being called Little scraps of magic. If you look through the projects you can find them all.

Ok thank you-Little Scraps of Magic! And the Priscilla Knoble coneflower block that was just posted is probably part of this series. I didn't know that they were launching a new website-I recently saw Alex at a seminar in Philadelphia-not sure if she mentioned that. I won a set of TQS series DVD even though I am a Star member and have all of the shows. Will probably share the DVDs with a non-subscribing friend.
