    Ricky's Kaliedoscope pattern

I am so excited to try Ricky's kaliedoscope pattern, but did I miss something. When I went to projects there were three sections. On the paper pieced part, there was only one page. Shouldn't there be a paper block for each block. That was the impression I got from the demo. Or do we number them ourselves.

Also one more question, what about yardage amounts, that would help too.

That was the impressions I got, too, but we must be wrong. You can easily number them yourself from the diagram in part 4, so maybe that's what he was talking about. He didn't mention this, but I believe all of the blocks along a diagonal are the same, so that simplifies the numbering a bit. Have fun!

Nancy -- we could do skype and you could help me number the blocks, easy for you, not so much for me. LOL Thanks for the suggestion though, have a good day.

Hi Sharon - I don't have skype, but I'll see if I can make new templates for you on my computer tonight. I should be able to load the template file into Photoshop Elements and replace the numbers there. But I'll have to play around with it to make sure I don't mess up the block sizes. I can't help you on the fabric amounts!

I also think the pdfs are incomplete as Ricky also said the pattern would say how many colour one diamonds you'd need etc. I'm sure someone will be along soon to help us.

Part 3 of the project give you the layout, the number of different fabrics (11 plus background) and the placement of the colours, to get the same effect as Ricky.

Part 2 gives you 4 of the block patterns for paper piecing, although I would suggest that each square was cut in half to paper piece and then be joined together, before sewing the squares together. It would be possible to print lots of copies of Part 2 and then renumber them according to the information in Part 3.

Part 1 looks like it is an outline to colour in for youself depending on what fabrics you have and how you want to change the original idea for yourself.

Not particulary difficult - all the basic information, excepting the fabric quantites, is there - just a bit of a nusiance that takes a bit of re-organising, counting and double checking.

I did a first pass of creating PDF files with the numbered pieces for all of the blocks. They are just copies of the one Ricky gave us, pulled into Photoshop Elements and renumbered. I didn't know how to put the pages together into a single document, so they are in 9 separate documents. I haven't double-checked the numbering, but they should be pretty close. I'm happy to send them to anyone who wants them.

No problem! I'll need an email from you so I can reply with the PDF files. I don't think I can attach files when using the TQS email option.
