Show 1010 / Then birthday party! / Now Mothers' Day!

Thank you very much TQS for the mixture of brilliant entertainment and excellent advice, topped with the chance to do a 'Mystery'. I'm afraid (moan, pout....) it won't be me who is winning that goodie bag. With a family wedding looming, my time is not my own right now.

I'm not sure if you have the same long tradition in the US that is very much alive here in the UK: Comedy Double Acts. I really think that Debbie Caffrey and Charlotte Angotti could make a career of it this side of the big pond. The key to a successful comedy double act is that you have one 'straight' person and one funny one, and the two work off eachother and keep everybody entertained. I was sitting here last night giggling a lot. I'll definitely watch this show with Debbie and Charlotte again, and would love to meet them.

Lorchen (the confused one who seems to be right AND left-brained.... ah well.... shrugging shoulders.... that's life)

Hey Lorchan, as long as both sides are on talking terms with each other you shouldn't worry

Haven't seen this show yet, but the mystery quilt patterns look fun.

Rosemary, these ladies are delightfully hilarious, like a US female version of The Two Ronnies.

And don't worry about my brain sides. They have been communicating with eachother for almost 60 years.

Lucky you! I think I am both too. But my problem is they constantly argue with each other. Tell me how to get it undercontrol. It causes procrastination sometimes. Lois

Just watched this show. IT WAS FUN!

I think that I have both brains too, But what I really need is a 'Get 'Er Finshed' brain! instead of a 'Lets Start Something New' brain. I've just decided to add making a copy of the 1718 Coverlet to my list of projects  http://www.quiltmuseum.org.uk/blog/q...les/01265.html

Rosemary, That quilt is amazing. I think it might take a lifetime to collect and choose the fabrics. Have you started that? Lois

Lois - you're right about the procrastination. I took a short course on creativity and the right brain vs left brain thing, and for people like you who are sometimes a bit in the middle, it can really lead to procrastination. I am definitely right brained (according to their little tests), so I don't have an excuse for the procrastination thing.

I loved a Tee-shirt I saw very recently that read

I loved it and asked the guy where he got it and he told me that it was made especially for him!!

Ah, so that's why I procrastinate—I'm both brained, too! :? When I'm working (copyediting), all I want to think about is quilting. And when I'm quilting, all I want to think about is ... Quilting! I've been working on such a big copyediting job for so long now that I feel like my right brain is all withered and wilted  but I hope to shift to all right-brain quilting soon!!! (this weekend, if I'm very, very good the rest of the week ...)

Robin, we all give you permission to engage your right-brain next weekend. Hang loose and party! And if you need a reason: It'll be my birthday on Saturday.

Let's have a party for Lorchen. Wherever we are we will party for Lorchen and post how we celebrated. It's Mother's Day in the USA this weekend and since my kids are both far away and I don't want to grieve their absence (It's so hard not too.) I'd much rather celebrate Lorchen's birthday. Yeah! Now I know why I purchased that new hot pink jacket and crop pants. It's for Lorchen's birthday party. I can't wait. How are you going to celebrate Lorchen's birthday? I am going to do something completely and totally right brain and I will do something to anesthetize the left. Now how does a person anesthetize the left? Rita, any ideas?
