It will be hard to turn off the brain (both the thinking part and the judgmental part), but I will certainly give it a try. I'll share whatever I come up with.

    Thanks!

Have a drink, toss some pieces onto a background, have another drink, shuffle them around until you find some eyes etc. have another drink, another shuffle, nail it down (as my DH would say  ), have another drink, chuck on some beads/buttons (literally) & stitch them where they fall - no don't move that one just to fill up the space! leave it empty! Finish the bottle, go for a little lie-down and see what you think of it in the morning

PS. extra shuffles & drinks can be added as required, but you cannot have one without the other

Thanks, Rosemary--sounds like a plan!!!!   I watched Yvonne Porcella's episode last night and again a few minutes ago. I'm ready to go! Too bad I don't have any scraps with fusible. But, I guess I could take a bunch of scraps and slap them on a sheet of steam-a-seam, use some and save some for another face...

The difficulty for me is that I don't drink. But maybe I can come up with something else that will make me less uptight! Maybe after a massage???

... or maybe a bubble bath and a nice hot cup of chamomille tea? Both can be very relaxing...

                Bummer...hic! (sorry abut that!)
Ok, how about assembling it last thing at night, 15 minutes to get everything into place and your not allowed to change it when you come to sew it down in the morning (well not much anyway  ) Tight time limits to 'get 'er done' might work instead. But the bead/button chucking rule still applies!

Chocolate! It will put you in a good mood, make you a little hyper and happy with the result no matter what. Then off to bed with you and no peeking until the morning.

You lot crack me up. It's a good thing Nancy doesn't drink or she'd be on the floor incapable of any sewing and ironing bits of fabric to the underside of the table. Chocolate now you're talking that'll induce a trance

If you get to enjoy doing it I've got another project that you can enjoy letting go with

I've got both bases covered here! It is called Chocovok - chocolate flavour vodka, smells wonderful and is very smooth. 8) I'll offer you a sniff if you like Nancy

Sounds very interesting! I hadn't thought of just getting some alcohol to sniff. If I can't find Chocovok, I wonder if I could just snort some vodka while eating a Snickers bar....

Rits it's a fun class I went to by Hilary Beattie to make a silhouette that you place on a randomly fused background.

Then you machine or hand embroider on it add lace, sari silk more scraps anything. I'll post a picture of the quilt I did on the day and another afterwards for a friend and I'll find the link to Hilarys website where you can see her work, the mess we made on the day and others in my groups work.

Really good fun. The chocvoc could help 8)
