    Watching older shows

I just purchased some of the older shows that I missed, and tried watching one of them this morning. What happened to the "remote control" functions? I couldn't pause the show. Of course, I'm able to look at the gray timeline and make a note of where I left off, but didn't we used to have a "chapters" popup and a pause-ability? I've just become used to the new format (which I love!) but can't seem to revert.

I just looked and the remote was front and center like it should be. If you zoom in the remote disappears, or if you had dragged it past the edge it disappears. So other than that, no clue as t why it wouldn't be there.

Oops, sorry -- the remote does appear. But the function buttons don't work. :? See what happens when they give you newer and better features, you become spoiled and expect everything to work without a hitch!

The remote has a "white wing" in the lower right side. If you click the button to expand it you will find the Chapters. They are just numbered in the "old days" but always go

Thanks for your reply, Cap'n. I'd forgotten that's where the old video "chapters" were listed. But that's still not the problem I have. My "remote control" functions just do not work at all. I can move the remote around on the screen while watching a video, but nothing happens when I click on the pause or white wing-thing or anything???? :x rrrrrrrr

Brita, I have no idea if this makes any difference, but when I was using AOL as my browser, none of the old forum functions, or the "mouse" functions on the old episodes ever worked for me. I have recently changed to Google Chrome, and now everything on the new forum seems to be working the way it should! I'm not sure about the virtual mouse because I'm just watching the new format there, too.
You might want to try using Chrome and see if there is a difference?

For some reason, since I switched from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome, I've had trouble trying to watch the old format videos. While the videos themselve work ok, I couldn't get the "remote control" to control anything, I couldn't get the video to fast forward or pause. I couldn't click the white line beneath the video to control moving forward or backward, either. So I tried using Internet Explorer, and it works fine for me that way!

So I guess I'll watch the new format on Chrome, the old shows on IE. Don'tcha just love computers   :x

I wish I could watch them from my new IPad. The newer ones play fine but not the older ones. It's pretty comfy to sit on the sofa to watch them.

The older shows are in Flash and not available for me to convert into iPad mode. We started with Series 6 in the HTML5 mode. Jeanie's classroom is also in the new format. I wish I could go back but the raw files are not there. Alex thought she would not want an iPad, but after watching Sarah Vedeler use hers at market, I think she may change her mind.
