    601 - Jinny Beyer

I love her hand technique and I've been using it, it seems, just about right! Reading how to and seeing it being done are quite different, but I think that has to do with the speed Jinny does it. It's certainly helped me through a few car journeys and around Spain, Portugal and Australia this year!!

Fabulous lady with an eye for colour and form to die for!!

This show was fabulous! That's my kind of quilting and there are so many tips how to do better work more efficiently in this show. I've already watched it twice, and I know it will be one of my favorites to watch over and over. Marge in NE Ohio where we have 20+ inches of snow and more falling and blowing. UGH!!!

I have loved Jinny's work for years. I had the opportunity to visit her shop in Great Falls, VA. She wasn't there that day but I picked up 3 kits with her fabulous fabric.
I also get her newsletter-one of these days I'm going to take a class with her in person.

I love Jinny and her hand piecing/quilting techniques. I have her new book and it is INCREDIBLE. Seriously, my husband was also mesmerized by all the information she gives in it. It's truly worth every cent. And to learn that it took her five years to finish it, well that makes the book an awesome value.

I have been working very hard trying to teach myself her hand piecing technique. At first I was stumped because I couldn't really 'get' it, but after watching this show and seeing the up close shots of her fingers, SUCCESS! Woo hoo! Also, I really had to go down to her needle size in order to keep my hands from cramping.

JoJo -- how did you get her book. I was under the impression it was coming out and not out yet. Maybe I misunderstood, it sound verymuch worth the price and a great reference guide and idea book.

Jinny Beyer inspires me every time I see her. I have been a fan of hers for years. I used to have her Blocks and Borders book years ago and remember the grid overlay that you would place over the block pictures. It was really helpful as I drafted templates for blocks.

Then the rotary systems came out and things were different from then on!

Sharon, that episode was filmed earlier....before the book was available. You can now get it from her web site:

I went to Jenny's Hilton Head Retreat in 1992 when I was a newbie. I leaned first hand how to hand piece. My first class in drafting was at that retreat. She is such a good teacher. She makes the amazing work she does seem with in even a newbies skills. She also instilled a love of border prints that continues to this day. Woo Hoo for you Jenny. Wow, the show with Jenny was awesome! I have been around as long as Jenny has, but I have not seen a show with her that was so informative! I will give hand piecing a go! Thank you so much. I was blown away by this show

Finally watched this show, and as always, Jinny does not disappoint. I have her earlier book on hand piecing and use her method when I'm doing hand work. I love hand work, also.

                          Her new book sounds fabulous.

Of course Alex and Ricky do not disappoint either.

I used to hand piece when I first started quilting but then went on to do everything by machine. Having seen this fantastic show I really want to do some hand piecing again. Thank you Jinny, you are an inspiration. Maggi
