    Show 312 ? for Ricky

Ricky - Can you tell us what kind of thread you used in the demo of double blanket stitch -- top and bottom.

BTW are you getting dumped on today with snow in LaVeta?
Not too bad here in Greeley.

    Thanks, Sharon

Personally, that was one of my favorite shows. I loved the trick Ricky used for turning corners. Since I know about the Pattern Begin function on Berninas, it was a major :!:  :!: moment for me. Why didn't I think of that???

I remember Ricky said the top thread was 40 wt Superior thread but I can't remember what he said he used for the bottom. Also, the Fantasia pattern was the icing on the cake.

I also enjoyed the suggestions from Melody Crust. So much of my problem is a matter of confidence and being unwilling to try something new. I am so geared for the end project that I don't give myself some wiggle room for creativity. I have so many of the supplies that she mentioned, I just haven't set a play date to try them.

Technique tips, creative ideas and a free pattern. It doesn't get any better.

Kim, I'm so glad you mentioned the pattern begin button--I was going to ask Ricky if that's what he meant. I loved the show, too! I want to embellish my 2008 BOMs with beads and Melody gave me answers to the questions that I've had about the process. I've got to watch that show again!!! I also loved Ricky's arrangement of "Greensleeves"--I'll be waiting to hear what was in the bobbin, too. Judy in Torrance

Hi, Ricky. I just re-watched episode 312, and I really think I'm getting a handle on the double blanket stitch. But, how do you "restart" the stitch? I'm having 2 problems -- I don't get the initial "up-down" and I lose the stitch length/width I'm using. I work on a Bernina 440QE. I hope you are well and enjoying the holidays! Thanks for the help. Ron

Hey Ron, I also have a 440. Under the enter screen there are three buttons. The first one is a triangle shape, it's the pattern begin button. Pressing it starts the pattern at the beginning without losing your stitch length/width.
When I first start it goes left, right, left, right, without the up down. As soon as you press the pattern begin button it does do the up, down first before the left, right.
Hope this is clearer than mud. Give it a try.
