Kim D. and quilting with kids

This was such a great show. I remember Kim from Simply Quilts and have been an admirerer since then. Glad to know there is a book and still love that technique. Actually I have probably revised my Christmas projects for this year for at least the "little kids" Thanks for another great show.

Yes I enjoyed her segments. I'm always a fan of kid art. I was thinking the fuzzy edges would be nice to do for a quilt for my mom. I've heard that textural quilts are great for Alzheimer's patients who love the sense of touch.

I first saw Kim on qnntv.com. I used her technique with my DS#1, 10yo. He wanted to make gifts for his grandmothers, all five of them! (blended family) So I demonstrated, supervised and took him shopping for the pillow forms. He did very well, when I get my camera working I put a picture up of the pillow he made for himself. I was very proud of him. He stayed motivated for the whole project.
