    episode 301 - Jane Sassaman

Wow! This episode is outstanding! I really enjoyed this from beginning to end. Ricky demonstrating how to inset squares (or any four sided/multi sided shape) made the process simple and easy to understand. This technique is well worth a try!

Jane Sassaman is off the hook fabulous...WOW is not a big enough word. Thanks for the demonstration on the design process for your (or any fabrics). Going from idea to actual product takes such a long time and some amazing effort to get the piece right.

    Happy Quilting!

I agree, it is an awesome show. I don't think I have watched a show that hasn't given me some sort of inspiration or enjoyment. Great job, Elizabeth

Bravo, great episode!!! I have watched it twice and I still want to watch it again!! There is so much information to feast upon! Ricky's instructions were crystal clear for the set in borders, I really feel that "I can do that!". And Jane Sassaman...what can I say, she is an icon..I love her spirit, thank you for sharing her wonderful talent! I have been playing with my sewing machine stitches, this just opens up a new world for applique! I want to cut into that large print fabric now! It's also nice to see Justin come from behind the kerchief...(loved BB but I like the real McCoy much better...what a cutie-pie!)
Thanks again gang, job well done! Looking forward to seing the new set!

if you want to match colors exactly the best thing to use is the pantone color matching system. this system is used universally by all designers, printers, artists. it is available in swatches of individual color chips or in complete books showing every color you can imagine. it is not cheap but if you are in the business of designing with color, it is a must. there is even a guide specifically for textiles.

Fabulous show. I have had the privilege of taking one of Jane's classes- she is always gracious and giving.

                  Your new format is great-

I just watched the show this afternoon, and it was wonderful. I have great admiration for folks with such artistic ability. And to have three on my screen at once is such a treat.

I went last night and bought the cutting tool. I made a block using her method, I really like the block and the method. It will be much easier with the tool. I am going to use a different stitch of every block too take advantage of all the wonderful stitches on my machine. This was a great show.

I watched the Jane Sassarman show and loved the idea of using all different decorative stitches. Then Wednesday the DVD I selected to watched while on the treadmill just said Fons and Porter and I watched another Jane Sassarman show featuring her Sun and Moon wallhanging. A lot more information on preparing the pieces and keeping them one layer by lots of trimming. And then last night I was looking through a stack of old magazines and there was the Sun and Moon pattern and project in a Fons and Porter Magazine. Is someone trying to tell me something?

I'm with Eileen! You don't need a "V-8 Bonk," do you, Sandy??? I am working with Jane's "Magic Garden" fabric and LOVE IT!! I'm already thinking of more quilts with her fabric. And, a pair of PJs!

Take the plunge, Sandy. The fabric about tells you what to do with it. Yes, it is loud and talks!!! LOL

                            Hugs,
