Well, here it is finished ! red binding and all ! Blocks were SIDed then a center element was
quilted around and the border, stippled with a star in each corner. I flipped a corner over to
show the backing...an oak leaf and acorn. I'm glad I did this project !

Woooow!!! It's b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l Marilyn. Love the touches of red and the backing.

Thanks ! As a Civil War era repro. it has lots of personality. To me it evokes the huge sense of loss and
sadness of that war ...so much blood ...so much darkness....but I chose the acorn and oak on the back
just to show that strength and courage prevails. ops: So much for the soapbox !

Marilyn, Your quilt is lovely. The red is perfect and I like the backing. Am I remembering correctly that you made the quilt smaller? What are the finished dimentions?

Marilyn, I love your quilt and the historical significance you attributed to it. The fabrics that you chose really do tell the story as described it.

Yes Lois...smaller...but not like Miss Rosemary!! Blocks 3 inches finished and 22 inches sq. overall.

                Marilyn,

It turned out very well. I really like it a lot. I haven't shrank any patterns like this so I am amazed that it all comes out so perfect. I love your colors. I have not participated in this class and project, but I have sure enjoyed seeing everyone's progress and finished quilts.

That's a perfect description of your quilt Marilyn! I didn't realize you had scaled down the size of the blocks. It's amazing. You're very talented and fast too!

Really pretty, Marilyn, and I love the backing fabric - I have a thing for acorns & oak leaves
By the way since my quilt be ending up about 6' square, you can't really call it a miniature :P

Marilyn what a lovely quilt and I love your motivation for it too. I also have a thing for oak leaves and acorns so I love your backing fabric. The red corner stones and binding are perfect. A treasure. I hope to get back to quilting my sampler tomorrow.
