Here are my logs. I will lay all the blocks out later and take a photo.

Finally up loaded some photos to my computer -
First up is my new skirt - you could call it a 20 piece block with curved piecing  I now have some nice bright blue batik scaps left over for piecing 8) :P

Next up is all my blocks from this class
      .....and my centre block
I didn't go completely mad, I only made them 1/6th scale, so I have 1" blocks in the centre and 6" blocks around the outside, and with the exception of the lg cabin blocks they were all sewn with a 1/4" seam allowance :P (and then trimmed down to about 1/8")

Next up - some complicated maths to work out sashing sizes to get them to fit together

Wow Rosemary, Just amazing. That's going to be one gorgeous quilt. And the skirt is lovely too!

Thank you, Lois. I'm sort of scared of piecing the blocks together because if I were to get them all the same size I would have to cut off some points. I assume I can cheat ever so slightly if I add sashing and turn the not so wide blocks around so the vertical sashing strips get to be slightly wider on the blocks that are not quite measuring up. As I will use this quilt as a quilt and not a wall hanging I hope nobody will notice it if some sashing strips are slightly wider than others. Kind of more discreet than cut off points?
Nancy, thank you for your idea of taking the blocks to a shop to find out which colour will work best if I decide on sashing.
Rosemary; your blocks are unbelievable I need to finish my quilt in a hurry so I can hide under it. WOW
Rita; your colours are so nice and relaxing to look at – like a sunrise.

Marianne, I like your blocks and the way the are beginning to flow together. I wonder about the effect of sashing too, maybe audition it to see if you like the look. Heaven knows that the rule here is to break the rules if you feel like it. It's just fun to practice the techniques. Now, I'm gonna try to upload my blocks, and you can see I pretty well stuck with the pattern, because I really liked Laura's quilt in the first place. First time I've made star blocks, the 'puzzle one' and log cabins, So I've learned a lot.

Just a note to say I have sometimes gasped when I've seen the times of some of the posts! Early birds, indeed, night owls, indeed, afternoon nappers, indeed - it takes all kinds!

Okay, I've tried 4 times to upload the photo - So, once I find the file/photo, I click on it, and then when I click 'add the file' it disappears...this is why I haven't shown anything yet. Can anyone help? I'm going to look at Margo's classrooms...

                  Hi Rita,
Thanks for asking for quilt photos. I have been trying but they wouldn't upload and I tried to put them in personal pictures on my profile, same problem. Sent question to tech support. Will post when I find solution.

Rita - Your blocks are wonderful! I love the soothing colors!

Rosemary - Wow!! I love your colors and am blown away by the miniatures! Can't wait to see how you finish it up!! Are you going to put tiny sashings between the center blocks to bring that area up to 6" finished? That's probably what you're still deciding about...

Everyone is doing such incredible work! What fun watching and learning!

                    Nancy

PS - For those having trouble uploading photos, are you reducing the size of the photo before uploading it? I've heard it can be a problem if the picture file is too big to begin with. Just a thought.

Terrie, you can't do a "quick reply" to add a picture. You have to go down to the "Post Reply" and post and then you can find the box to add pictures.

Thanks, Ritzy, I did try that. But someone else is having troubles too, so I guess maybe it's the photo programme I have. My son recently helped install this
'new-ish' computer and he said to use Picasso for all my photo stuff. Since then, I seem to be having trouble uploading to TQS. However, I can send if via email, because another dear TQS member is/was the victim of my photo uploading, and, that worked, so...

Rosemary, sorry I attributed your new skirt to Lorchen. Now I bet she's gonna want one too!

Giggle..... Terrie, that lovely skirt would not fit me. I'm too wide and a lot taller than our petite Rosemary.

                            Great skirt, Rosemary!!

Terrie, After you push "choose file" then you have to push "Add the file". At that point, watch the blue line in the webaddress line at the top of the screen and wait for the blue line to fill the entire box. It sometimes takea a long time for that to finish. The "Place in line" button will not appear until it is finished uploading. You can do it. Try, try and try again and you will get it finally. Ask me how I know!

                                Lois,
I've tried and tried again and I've never seen a blue line after I've added the file . Everything is blank and nothing takes place. I think I must be dense.
