Can we post pics of projects?

I tried to post pics of the quilt I just finished--the size is under 200KB, but I keep getting a server error message. Am I doing something wrong?

I've never had any problems. Others haven't been able to post pictures if the file name contained any special characters like ', but I don't know if they got a server error message since it didn't happen to me. That's the only suggestion I can think of off hand.

I tried renaming the photos, but I get

      Server Error HTTP 500

The website cannot display the page

      HTTP 500

      Most likely causes:
      •The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

      What you can try:

      Refresh the page.

Go back to the previous page.

Another problem with the web site in general is that it has been known to trash your cookies in certain conditions. I've had that happen several times, but for me it makes it so that I can't get onto the web site at all (and get errors something like that) with that browser until I clear all of my cookies. Maybe the same thing can happen with a cookie that just affects picture uploads. You could try using a different browser or clearing out the cookies in your current browser.

Those are the same errors I got when trying to post a picture with any character other than letters in the title of my jpg.
For example Victorina's quilt will not post. Victorinas quilt will post. No dashes - slants / question marks ? or exclamation points ! I wouldn't even put in any periods or commas.
          For example when I use a date I write 11 21 15.

          Hope this helps.

Thank you, Ladies, for all of your suggestions. Where there's a will, there's a way!!! :P

Thanks for your kind words, Wendy. I wanted to make a quilt for each of our little grandkids for Christmas this year--the Checkers/Tic Tac Toe is the last one!! I can't believe I finished them all before Christmas!!!

This one is a Race Day quilt for our grandson (5):

Please remove all single/double quotes from the file name before uploading. Sorry for any inconvenience, security is getting increasingly difficult as our servers are constantly being attacked from hackers around the world. We are beginning to add warnings in various places on the website to remove all quotes from file names before uploading.

Hackers often attempt to upload a virus file which contain a special character such as a single or double quote within the file name in an attempt to inject malicious scripts into websites. Many websites remove this security block because of issues it causes with valid files being uploaded from their members, but by doing so they are leaving their sites vulnerable for that type of attack and is highly discouraged by the security community. To read more on this subject, you can visit:
                  http://www.inmotionhosting.com/suppo...lidation-error

The IP address may be blocked for 1 hour if this happens and may appear as a 500 server error.

Regarding trashing a person's cookies, technically this is not possible by any 1 website, but I do understand and accept the generality of the statement made by "rehak" who also offered some great advice, thank you... What she may be referring to is when we first launched the new website late 2014, we did use a 3rd party system that would pop-up and direct people how to get free shows. We later found that this software was saving the JU_DATA_ALL cookie (from Justuno) and in a bizarre twist was somehow being included into the URL after a person clicked on a newsletter link and was then forwarded back to our website. Our server security software was doing it's job correctly and considered this a possible threat, so it blocked the IP address for 1 hour and would return a 500 server error. We removed that system immediately when we realized what was happening but never did figure out why it was occurring.

Forever a work in progress and we thank everyone for their feed back.

Thanks, Admin1--but I don't have anything odd (no symbols or numbers) in the name of the photo, just letters. And I still can't post photos. So I guess I'll just use links, if that's okay.

Good to find out that if we get a server error, that our IP address is then locked for an hour - it saves spending a frustrating 5-10 minutes repeatedly trying to get in, before giving up in disgust and cursing technology to the hills and back.
