I went to my profile and ensured that my settings were that only site members could see my posts. However, after making one or two posts, I went back to check them and they were both 'public'. Hmmm.

Profile - click on either the person's avatar or user name in a discussion and you will go to their page. Once there, click on "About Me" to see what they have written about themselves. You can edit your own profile by holding your mouse on "Connect" - a drop down menu will appear, then click on "My Profile".

Gallery issues - I'm aware of your complaints and my job is to advise John and Bob about your suggestions and frustrations. It may take awhile, but John wants this to be a user friendly site, so expect to see improvements as Bob has time to tackle the list of issues I'm passing on to him and John. John may give me access to the old site so I can see how the gallery there worked. For many years I was active in a site for rubber stamping and they had a great gallery, so I know what sorts of features need to be in place. We will work to find a way to make this new system be the best it can be. Your patience is appreciated.

I'm here to help and take your suggestions, so keep me informed of any more issues.

      hugs,

      Kathy

quilt picture, too. I used to go look at the slide show once in a while untill I lost track of it.
Sure wish that booklet project had actually come to pass....So many beautiful quilts in that
        exchange.

I think someone already suggested the platinum, elite, etc. are related to the number of posts. It is a generic designation that came with the software for the site.

Perhaps I can add something to the list of "things to update" to make it more personal for this site. Say, why don't you all suggest some titles for various levels of posts, i.e. "Chatty Cathy" for a lot of posts or "Too Busy Quilting" for someone with not so much, LOL.

Please understand that suggestions and updates will be done on a priority basis, according to John and Bob's schedule of work. That one will likely be further down the list.

Oh..sorry I mentioned it... Let's not add anything..that might be worse than Karma !! It just didn't
seem to make any sense time-wise or number-wise..Thought there might be reasonable answer
to what it indicated...guess not.. :S Showed up today alot....

Not able to read these icons you posted with my iPad. Even the enlargement is too small and not able to stretch. Please let Bob know. Thanks for your help, hope you get to see the way the old show and tell worked.
                      I really miss it. Janet

Sorry, tried to make that snapshot appear larger, but having trouble.

                        Here's a written definition:
The icon that looks like a blank sheet of paper is the default.

Exclamation Point - indicates that the topic is important (e.g. an official announcement to the community or the presence of a major problem that affects a service or product).

Question Mark - indicates that the topic is a question to the community.

Light Bulb - an idea, suggestion or request for a new feature.

Heart - can mean whatever you like it to mean. It is usually interpreted to be a "gift" from the topic creator to the rest of the
community. It could, for example, represent gratitude or admiration for the work of others in the community.

Red & Blue Arrows - indicates that the topic was created by merging it with other topics on the forum. This is often used to show that other forum users have similar issues but that the forum moderator considered that it would be more appropriate to discuss these several issues in the same topic.

Red X - Usually means that the question or problem discussed in the topic was not able to be resolved and that the subject is closed.

Green Check Mark - Usually means that the question or problem discussed in the topic was resolved to the satisfaction of the topic owner and that the subject is closed.

Red Arrow pointing Right - Indicates that a topic was moved to a different category.

                        Trash Can - Deleted topic.

Red Push Pin - "Sticky" topic. Only forum moderators can set this topic attribute. Sticky topics appear in a category index before other topics.

Lock - Locked topic. Only forum moderators can set this topic attribute. When a topic is locked no further posts can be made except for messages posted by forum moderators.

I, also, am lost on this new website. It is totally confusing to me. Very discouraging. I did renew my membership. I'm hoping that I will at least be able to watch the shows. The last one I tried to watch took almost an hour to download. Then It dropped the show entirely. I'm hoping things will improve. I'm very computer illiterate. So I could be doing something wrong with watching the shows. But I don't know if there is any help for finding my way around the website.

If the download is taking that long, I suggest you find someone who is computer savvy to look at your computer. It sounds more complicated than telling you to try some simple measures without knowing how old your computer is, the version of software you are using, etc.
