Janet your quilt looks beautiful. I think the first photo looks great and I agree with Margo's suggestion of adding another green border the same width as your outer green border to give the wide white area an extra framing. It would also give you an extra inch or so which might compensate for shrinkage during the quilting process. Good luck with it. Rita.

I love your quilt Janet. I really like the first picture best and think all the quilting will look so beautiful on the wide white part with either a small green strip or a green binding at the edge. Good luck with it. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Thanks Karen, I do plan to use a green binding , but still haven't decided what the rest will be. I do love all that quilting in the wide section of the quilt. Janet

I have to say Margo got it right. I don't like the last white border. Leave the green and bind with the same green fabric. The border is starting to get so wide it is taking away from the center. You can stretch a quilt only so much. Then there is the quilting. Will it be done on a domestic machine or a long arm? A long arm needs several inches of extra fabric all around.

The center is beautiful but all I am seeing is the border! Sorry...... Don't intend to offend!

Thanks so much to everyone for the comments and suggestions. I am still thinking.

Now I need to find a really good longarm quilter. any suggestions. I had someone lined up, but she has been injured and will not be working for some time.

Janet, the lady who quilted the one I showed is Karien du Plessis of South Africa, so I think you may be able to find someone closer!

OK, finally posting the quilted BOM Stars for a new day. The wide border turned out fine. I did bind it with the green and gave it to my daughter last year. Wool batt. Long arm quilted by Marilyn Lange. Janet in STL
