We should have our own emoticons: TQS star-shaped ones!

Margo, honey, have you contacted our computer genius to see if he can help you?

Yeah, Ritzy! I used to bug him a lot about it, but he never had any answers. I assumed it was just my old laptop with some functions set up wrong. But last month I had to get a new one (yeah....that was a PITA!) and I still can't see "posts since last visit". I do get some of the red "bells" now....but not all the time!! Weird!!

Have you tried using the "mark all forums read" on the bottom left side of the page? When I use that, I can return as often as I want and the bells at the side turn red when there's a new post. Only thing is, you need to read all the forum, because if you go elsewhere and comeback, the bell thingie doesn't work.

Well, well, well.....there is a place I wasn't aware of!!

Do you just click it when you have finished reading the forum???

Is that what causes the red bell thingy's to show up the next time you sign on???

I don't click anything and the little things are red when I sign on to the forum so I know where new posts are. I also noted when I finish reading a topic and someone posts while I am still in the forum it will turn red so I can read that one before I leave. Sandi in FL

Well, phooey! I just can't get a red bell thingy....I'm still thinking there must be some setting on my computer that is blocking that function. Thanks for the suggestions!

As usual when I logged onto the forum this morning, there were no "bells" even though there were new posts. Now when I log on later, there will be "bells" for new stuff. Weird!!!

It's funny, I see them as sheets of paper turning orange when there has been a post written.

But Amo, once a thread had reached a certain number of messages, your sheets of paper start to swing back and forth, like little orange bells.

I have to agree here. Look at the topics that haven't been posted to in a year or more; they can go. On the other hand, please check out the "Suggest a New Category" forum. Many of these deserve to be on the main list-they're posted to almost every day.

It's nice to see that some 'spring cleaning' of the forum categories has taken place. To the hard-working invisible 'fairies' at TQS: Thank you very much!

I think the new forum is going to be really good! I also want to share a recent discovery I made. As some of you know I have been whining since the beginning of TQS that a lot of the forum functions just did not work for me. Well, in the last couple of weeks I have switched browsers, and now everything seems to be working just fine!! I had always used AOL, even though my favorite computer geek REALLY tried to get me to change a long time ago! I am now using Google Chrome, and am finding that a lot of things I had trouble with seemed to be tied into the AOL browser. ops:

So...if you are having difficulty...try changing your browser!

Also...the new TQS photo upload is GREAT!!

I too am finding the new forum easy to navigate & love the option of controlling our own options in the Control Panel-thanks TQS.
