Clean up the Forum Threads and Categories

Please, please, please... clean up the numerous thread categories! The board is cumbersome with too many topics they need to be group in general categories... Some of the threads are over TWO YEARS OLD... the category was added but the topic has been passed by and is no longer of interest.

I usually just post in THIS OR THAT... and only post in other topics rarely. I note most posters have a favorite topic and that is where they post.

Issue #2... I have been surfing the web other quilt forums and I find several of them now have a system of posting pictures within the thread. I found those threads very enjoyable cause if they are talking about a quilt or a problem the pictures tend to demonstrate the problem or solution.

    Just a thought

Funny. I don't notice the 'clutter' of old threads at all. When I tune in, I just click to look at everything that's new since I last visited and that's all I look at.

I'm not even aware that it could be an issue for some. Guess it depends on how you use it. :? :?

I'm with Lynn. I'm also comfortable with the thought that I can still access something at a later date because it is still there even if it isn't attracting much attention at the time. IMHO

I like the forum just as it is. Please don't delete old postings. I read them and move on. Then time goes by and I have an idea or issue with a quilt and remember that I saw that in the forum and go back to re-read it. Or even better, some new product or technique is introduced to me via a posting that I didn't even know existed. It is a wonderful, wonderful reference. The entire web site has been a joy to me every single day - and I started at the very beginning. I, too, look at the new postings daily. Beverly

I agree with Lynn. By using the "View posts since last visit," it is easy to find the new messages whenever I log on. I frequently go back to look at an old post and would NOT like to have posts deleted from the message board. I like it just fine as it is. Marge

beautiful picture amoret. I also pretty much look at the most recent posts, and occasionally look for specific things in the older ones. The older posts are nice because then people don't have to keep repeating themselves. As for finding things, use the search option.

As for Pictures, I believe there was a problem with the space they used.
I may be wrong though, it's been know to happen.

I agree with all those in favor of leaving the forum as it is..It is reallly easy enough to by pass all the older posts. So I say leave it alone.

I was thinking in terms of someone new to the site or someone new to quilting--if all the old threads are deleted--then valuable information has been lost. Lots of people learn in different ways and have to hear (or in this case read) it in different ways to finally get it. I am for leaving the forum alone. You could condense like topics but please don't delete.

I just have to say that many times I've gone back to old posts for some nugget of information. I would hate to loose that source.

I agree with Ritzy too. Sometimes I look for something that I've read here and I would be very disappointed to find it had been deleted. Unless there's a problem with space, I would like to see the Forum left alone.
