    MINKEE BINDING

What's the best way to bind a baby quilt that's cotton patchwork on one side and Minkee on the other? My daughter fosters newborns and I make a new quilt for each one so when they move on, they have something cuddly with "good smells" of home. My daughter found a pink piece of Minkee in my stash and that's what she wants. Since she is a single(newly divorced) working mother of four young kids, and fostering(her reason for being she says), getting the quilt right is the least I can do. Thanks for input.

I suggest silk blanket binding, if you want to continue with the theme of different textures. Just thinking back to my childhood, I always loved the blankies with the silk binding. (Mom started something bad) Just my opinion.

I wouldn't suggest using the minky as binding, though, it's too stretchy.

I used the silk pre-folded binding on a quilt and not matter what I do, i can't get it to crease. it's so wide, I thought I'd just use it double folded and it would be nice and strong, but it ends up round and puffy. Wierd! Hope you have better luck. nancy
