Looking for an applique lesson video

I believe it was in December or January that I watched Alex give Ricky a lesson on applique. She showed a few different methods but one she said she really liked she learned from a well-known quilter and uses that method now. I would really like to watch this video or segment of one of The Quilt Show or lessons again, but I have looked and cannot find it. Does anyone remember this video?

Did you ever find out the show number for Alex showing Ricky how to applique?

    Thanks!

Angeliasue, I never did find the show/lesson. I should have written it down, but I was in a hurry when I watched it and figured I'd watch it again later, which a few months later when I wanted to use the lesson I couldn't find it. I even wrote to Alex and she couldn't remember ever giving the lesson. So I know I saw it and can't figure out where it was. Do you remember the lesson? I'd appreciate any info you can give me or can you lead me in the right direction to look for it? Thanks.

Hi I think you are looking for the same applique lesson I am looking for, it was at the start of one of the shows I think, Alex had a special little cutter for cutting out circles of freezer paper and a funny little hobby iron,(not a clover iron) she squirted spray starch into the lid of the can and then used a small make up brush to paint the fabric over the freezer paper, ironing down as she went. I have looked everywhere on the TQS site but can not find it. Dorothy UK

If you are looking for her demo of daisy chain it is in episode 408. Karen

I love you people! After we get back from taping - which is around the corner, I am thinking about doing an expanded applique workshop in my classroom area - if you have any other ideas, please chime in

Yes. Upsidedown, reverse, inside out, back to front, hand, machine, glued, freezer papered, fused, concave corners, convex corners, sharp points...... It's all new to me.

I know you have all the answers.

A class on applique would be great. I started on the 2008 BOM and got one point on the background star done and just stopped. It was like I was all thumbs and got really frustrated. Of course, anything you want to do is more than alright with me

Wouldn't it be great if there were an easier way to find topics covered in prior show episodes? An index or cross reference that could be searched would be very helpful. There have been so many questions asked on the forum where someone wanted to know which episode featured this or that. Now, it seems that the best way to find what you are looking for is to get someone else to do the searching.

I would "love" it too! A big index would really work and it would be ideal if it would encompass "all" of the shows not just a series. This way we could learn how other teachers do the same thing just with a different technique.

                              Great idea Nancy!
