I know we have had this here and there but it is good to have so many all in one place. Thanks Anna, you have confirmed a few that I wasn't sure that I had translated correctly.

I sent in a request to Bob the Web Guy 8) suggesting some sort of "sticky" that would be always available and on top. This "sticky" is just like the sticky notes that many of us paste all over the place to remind ourselves of important information. Hopefully it won't fall off the object it's stuck to and flutter to the floor like mine do. Maybe it would be in the existing category of "Forum."
Your contribution of abbreviations and definitions is a great start. I understand that others could add information to the sticky and users would not have to scan through different posts to find a definition.
I don't know exactly what form it would take. I believe that there are different techniques to achieve the "sticky." I've never been a forum administrator. I'm sure that Bob (his name and not an abbreviation) the Web Guy can find a good solution.

Now I know why I don't text. I can type out what I am trying to say way quicker than I can look up the abbreviation. I probably shouldn't admit it, but I tend to skip over messages that have lots of abbreviations.

Thanks go to Lady rags...but I don't know if I'll ever remember all of them. Sandy I agree with you I can type faster than I can go look up the meaning of abbreviations. Could be I'm just too set in my way of doing things. Nan F.

I can't even remember where my eyeglasses are when I'm wearing them! I'm sure a "sticky" would help. I don't text either. I'll just type real fast.

I propose doing away with all forum abbreviations. Really, are we in THAT big of a hurry in this society that we can't actually type out phrases like "by the way?" How many keystrokes are we really saving? I mean, I just looked at how long this particular thread is. The shear number of keystrokes that it's taken everyone to explain what all these abbreviations mean and then to comment on them has certainly used up any time saving that these abbreviations supposedly produce. Not to mention the time it would take a newcomer to actually have to look for and refer to a forum "dictionary"!?! Geez!! LOL and TTYL!!

                        Abbreviations …

I was in the middle of looking up my word files on abbreviations when a lightening storm rolled in... Have fun with theses and I think this is the end of my collection .....

I won't write in here what these mean, let's just say they are not appropriate for this forum.

Please note that Bob the Web Guy has created a link to a glossary and definitions of posting terms on the top of the first page of the forum categories. This should solve most of the problems of having to search through various posts and topics to find the info.

I am also going to post this note in the other topic covering the subject of abrreviations, definitions, etc.
