    Item from quilt retreat

    Hey guys,

In the bag that Carol Lee gave us there was a piece of acrylic. When I look at fabric through it I am not getting any contrast like I think you are suppose to. The reds look black and other colors brownish. So what am I to do with this? Must be a reason she gave it to us. Thanks. Mary Noel

That would be a value finder! The relative value (lightness or darkness) of fabrics in a quilt can make a huge difference in the way the finished project looks, and sometimes it's hard to tell which fabrics will work best. Using a value finder can be a huge help! However, if you need to find the value of reds, you will need to use a green acrylic sheet!
