I'm confused as I read the instructions for the Sisterhood of the Travelling Triangles. Are we supposed to press the block toward the dark fabric or merely cut the squares apart and leave them flat? -

If you press you entire unit from the fabric side to set the stitched seams there is no need to press the individual triangles after you cut them apart.
Cut the triangles apart. Do not press the unit open. Do not remove the foundation paper. Do not clip the corners.
