If you could have the day of your dreams what would it be?

I dream of a day I can fulfill all my desires. They mostly surround my sewing studio these days. Mine involves my horse, studio, quiltshop, fishing pond and kitchen. What is yours like?

I'm in my sewing room, someone else is doing the laundry, cleaning and calling ME for dinner and cleaning up after! Sounds really nice to me!

On the day of my dreams my new longarm is delivered and set up. The supplies are delivered next-thread, fabric, batting, and etc. My DH comes home from work (now we're really dreaming) and finds me quilting along with a big goofy grin on my face cuz I have quit my casino job to become a full time quilter!

On the day of my dreams I would have someone come into my house and clear out what THEY KNEW I would never use or want or need again - hey, I wonder if libby is available?

My perfect day would be to start with coffee on the deck (it would of course be a gorgeous day), followed by a nice little walk with my dog (music on the ipod), a couple of hours of sewing in my studio, lunch with DH (he prepares a beautiful salad), an afternoon at the barn or on a trail ride with my horse, DH grills something for dinner and joins me on a walk with the dog after, followed by knitting in the evening during a lovely chick flick (one cat on my lap, the other behind me on the top of my chair). No one asks anything of me all day and the kids are amazingly beautifully behaved or even better - busy with thier friends and not home! Maybe a nice chat with my mom or sister on the phone sometime as well.

It's nice to dream, isn't it!?

I'm having the 'Day of my Dreams' several times a year: It's whenever both my sons are here for a visit.

There'll also be a very special 'Day of my Dreams' on May: The arrival of my first grandchild.

If this day has to be quilting related: Spending time with quilting buddies. They all live quite a distance from here, so it always take some organizing to get us to meet. And when we do, it's party time!

And if this special day can be in the realm of fantasy: I would love to be given the job as Justin's assistant during tapings of new shows.

Lorchen, congratulations! The arrival of your first grandchild - that will be one of the best days of your entire life, with many more best days to follow when you spend time with him or her. I so agree with you that my best days are spent with my family. Of course, I love quilting days with my friends, but family - there is nothing to compare

I have had so many "Days of my Dreams" ...in the past it was each time a baby was born into our family....today it is each time my family gets together. Of course everyday I get to work on a project that excites me is a dream day....such as a new quilt. Also I have to admit I would love a day when I could twitch my nose and my house was perfectly clean, dinner was cooked and I finished up a quilt that I felt was a very good job done!!!

A quilting day of my dreams would be: sewing area clean and ready to go, fabric prewashed off the bolt, a bobbin that refills itself, a delicious lunch (and maybe dinner, too) delivered to my front door, an unused seam ripper, 12 uninterrupted hours, and chocolate to snack on with NO weight gain! I guess I can dream!

The day of my dreams would have Merry Maids coming in to clean and Libby Lehman organizing my sewing areas. Then, Emeril Lagasse would be in my brand new kitchen cooking up wonderful meals.
I'd be sitting on my deck with my hand work, just soaking up the sun.
My DGS would be there in his exersaucer, happy as a clam.

Day of my dreams? First of all - I would wake from the best sleep feeling energetic. The weather and coffee and bagel would be perfect. The right side of my brain (artistic) would be in high gear. I would quilt without ANY mistakes. I would find time for watercolor painting creating a masterpiece with each stroke. I would have short visits from close friends and family. My DH and I would enjoy being together as always. We would have dinner out. I would feel liked staying up late and watching a good movie. Isn't it amazing how we all want to do normal things. Jan

I laughed out loud, Jan. I've been thinking some about my quilting Day of my Dreams and it would likely be very normal too. I was trying to work in nonquilter family and close friends, and for the most part, SHORT visits captured it exactly. =)

My day would start with a wonderful layer of snow on the ground and walking my (14yr old) puppy first to invigorate my bones. Then down to the Quilt room with my oatmeal (made by anyone but me) and check out the online chat as I enjoy breakfast.
Then the fun stuff that I can open my cupboard and find the right fabrics to pull together a wonderful applique design that I designed the night before due to knowing that this would be my precious day.
Lunch will come without me knowing it until my DH brings it down for me to be nourished, we chat of the progress that is on my design wall then when all done he takes away the mess and I am back to designing and playing with my wonderful quilt stash.
Supper arrives I realize the day is almost done but very satisfying because everything went together so well and I have hand work that I can continue with knowing that I will have another wonderful full day just like this.
