    Singer 201-2

For Christmas, my hubby got me this beautifully restored Singer 201-2! It sews beautifully!

Who would ever have thought I could get a machine that stitched as nicely as my Berninas! I'm tickled to have this, and figure it will outlast me! It's a 1947 Centennial.

She is beautiful! I was lucky enough to get one at an estate sale last Fall...and absolutely love it! I'm piecing my feathered star on it this week....I love sewing on it! Enjoy!!! Nancy

I have a few old Singers and just one FW. I should look up their numbers. Your new one is so pretty and it looks like a refinished case! Lovely!!

Thanks everyone! It sews like a dream, and is so amazingly quiet. My next step is to find a cabinet for it, somewhere! The wood box is simply so I can use it until I find a cabinet.

Great machine! My older machines are very quiet also. Just one of the things I love about them!

She's a beauty, what good taste your hubby has ! Guess you already knew that

I have a 201 still sitting in the basement waiting for me to get it ship shape. We moved here 10 years ago and DH kept telling me it wasn't down there. Well, we moved, we didn't leave it behind. We had the Great American Basement Cleaning Memorial Day weekend, and guess what, there she was !

Hope yours will give you years of sewing pleasure,

                  Sue

I'm honored to have this machine and a piece of sewing history. I sure wish I knew the background behind the machine!

CJ, I also have a 1947 Centennial 201-2 and love it! This is the model machine that Mother taught us to sew on, and my sister has that one. When I saw mine on e-bay I knew I "needed" it....because I was born in 1947! It came with the original Queen Anne style cabinet (like Mother's) that really needed to be refinished, but it turned out even better than I thought it would. I'm still on the look-out for a stool for it to match the cabinet. Your machine is a beauty, and I know you will enjoy using it.

You can also lower the feed dogs on your machine and use it for free-motion quilting and embroidery.
