    820 Tension Issues with BSR

My 820 has always wanted a terribly low upper thread tension when using the BSR. My latest quilt is a "just for fun" project to try different patterns and threads. Using "So Fine" by Superior, I seem to have reached the limit! I have the upper tension on zero and the bobbin tension 2 clicks to the right. This gives me an OK but not great looking stitch. (I also followed Don Linn's advise and up-sized my needle to an 80 from a 70.) Has anyone else experienced tension challenges with the BSR? Have you foudn it harder to correct with finer threads?

Oh that is too bad. I have an 830 LE and have good results with bobbin one click to the right and upper tension varies by thread. I wonder if it is the BSR itself that is defective. I do sew fairly slowly with my BSR, but have good success. I use different needles depending on the thread and I do use a shorter stitch length though. I hope you can get it right.

I know I'm really late in replying here, but I had massive skipping problems with my BSR foot (on my 730 and 830). When I took it to my Bernina Repairman, he said I needed the free "fix"--installing a stronger spring. He also said I should use a size 90 or 100 universal needle when I use my BSR foot. Both things fixed my problem!!! I love to do free-motion quilting with my BSR foot!!!
