    Bernina 750 Stitching on Paper

Has anyone tried to stitch quilting patterns onto paper with an unthreaded needle. When I try to do this I get notification that the thread has broken. I turned off notifications and now the machine does not go at all. The start button turns red. I have even removed the bobbin in case that was the issue. Does anyone know a workaround for this issue? I did not have this problem with my 440.

I have an 830 but the 750 should not be too different in this respect. Go into your settings (where you can change the sounds, there's probably a sound symbol and an eye in the icon you will open), go in there and you will see a setting with a big "X" going through a spool of thread; click on that and it will allow you to sew without thread and without all the warnings!

I have already tried that to no effect. Thanks for your response.

Jan, if you go to the bernina yahoo group for the 700 series I bet they can help. I have learned more about my 830 from the yahoo group than I could ever learn with my dealer or on my own.
There must be a way to sew on paper with your machine. Good luck and let us know. Janet

Jan, if that happened to me, I would be talking to my dealer. There must be a reason that function is not working and for the price of your machine, you should not be expected to seek workarounds. I have a vague recollection reading that others had a similar issue (don't remember whether it was the 5 series or the 7 series machine) and the adjustment was made by the technician. Wish you the best in getting your machine taken care of.

There is also a place on the Bernina USA website, Customer Support, where you can ask questions and get guidance: https://berninaofamerica.zendesk.com/hc/en-us. I hope this helps.

Finally got an answer to my question. My dealer finally got back to me and she figured it out. You turn off the sensors but must return to the homepage. If you stay on the sensor page it will not work. I knew that it must be something simple that I was not doing. Thanks to all who responded to my question.
