I did not get the 880 instead I got the 780, and it is in the shop now. A board died and the shop called saying they replaced it and it still does not work.
I have not used it very much as I still have the 730 which I really love....so now I hae to wait till the receive another board.

Fun to hear how things work out for you with the new board for your 780. My dealer upgraded my 440 last year I'm delighted with the service and the upgrade.

I ordered an 880 today! It will be quite a step up from my 48-year-old 730.

Funny. Last night I was cleaning and oiling my 730 and looking to see what modifications I'll have to make to the cabinet to get the 880 to fit into it. And I felt sad! Is this normal? I've never bought a new machine before.

I'm consoling myself by thinking about how wonderful it will be to have a needle-up/needle-down function!

          Congratulations Anne !
I hope it will arrive soon.
I really Love my 880 and only 'problem' I'v notised is when Im working to fast.
I seam to forget sometimes that its automatic and, for example, need 2-3 seconds more to cut.
And in future ,.. This comes to everyone ,...
Remenber its a computericed machine and if there is some problem - do an upgrade from internet or same upgrade as you allready have to calebrated and get rid of "bugs".
Its eazy and only takes 1-3 minutes.

Best wishes to you all ??

            Thanks, Marika. I'm pretty excited!

Your advice sounds wise. I use computers a lot and am very comfortable with technology, so I'm sure it will be a good experience. I sometimes wonder whether some people find these high-end machines intimidating because they're not very fluent with technology in general. I guess I'll find out!

You will love it, but you must respect the machine to do its things. I have had the 830 for 3 years now and I never looked back. I prepared myself by watching the videos before buying. 3 hours with my dealer showing me how to manage the machine and I was up and running.
              Congratulations and HAVE FUN

I've had my machine for a few weeks and my cabinetmaker has done surgery on my cabinet. I LOVE this machine! There's lots to learn, but I'm so used to computers that it all makes perfect sense to me. I'm so glad I bought this machine!
