    Where to oil my 440QE?

Help! I am in the midst of moving and can't find my manual. The little oilcan icon keeps flashing. I've oiled the bobbin case. Where else do I need to oil? And how do I get the oilcan to disappear?

    According to the manual,
-turn power switch to off and pull out plug from electric outlet
-squeeze one drop of oil into the hook race
If unplugging the sewing machine doesn't reset the oil can use the clr button. You might have to do this three times.

Jean, what is the hook race? I've never heard of that. Thanks!

Joanne, it's that curved, pointed area you see when the bobbin is removed. Put a drop of oil in that area after every 3 or 4 bobbins. Judy in Torrance

Thanks, Judy, I'm going to go take a look at that right now.

JoAnne, thanks for asking that question. I didn't have a clue what that was. Sandi in FL

This applies to the 153 also. My instructions say no oil but it gets very noisy if I don't put some on the same area. I questioned a Bernina repair guy (lots of traffic) about not oiling my 153. He is the one that gave me the hint. Been doing it for several years.

                  My 440QE manual says . . .

"if the sewing computer was cleaned the display can be cleared by pressing the "#" button twice" (this is what I did and it worked)

"the display can be cleared temporarily by pressing the "clr" button but will appear again when restarting the sewing computer"

"after clearing with "clr" for the third time the cleaning notification will only appear again after a further approx. 180,000 stitches"
