you can, as the machine may be clever, but it doesn't know what foot you have on it!!! lol However, sometimes will not let me move it, so you will have to try it and see. Hope that helps, but come to think of it, not much help at all!

I have also found that moving the needle one position to the right helps me get an accurate ¼” seam allowance with the #57 foot. My problem is that I don’t always remember to move the needle before I start sewing – talk about frustration! I finally came up with a solution. I cut a teeny piece of blue painter’s tape and stuck it to the guide. That does the trick – my seam allowances are accurate and I don’t have to adjust anything before I start sewing.
