    Hanging Quilts

I hated the fact that I had to put holes in my walls to hang my quilts, particularly as when I wanted to change to a different quilt I could end up making more holes. I have now found that 3M Command Strips Hooks solve the problem. They stick to the wall and are easily removed without any damage and they make loads of different sizes to hold various weights. I mainly use their utensil hooks and put one on each side of my quilt to hold the wooden dowel that I have put through my hanging sleeve.

I also use a variety of their hooks on the wall of my sewing room to hang scissors, cutting boards, rulers etc, etc.

I assume these are available in most countries; in the UK they are in all the DIY stores and at http://www.3mselect.co.uk

Pamela, They look a great idea. I'll have a look at them when I go to the DIY store. Like you, I feel that I may want to change my quilts from time to time. I haven't got any quilts on the walls so far. I did find some large cup hooks, which would need to be put in the wall with rawlplugs. I haven't been able to get my husband to put them up yet. The 3m ones look a much better idea. I could also put them up myself! THanks Pam

Pamela, I got some 3m Command strip hooks at the weekend and now have one of my quilts hung up! I've not made many quilts, but this is the first one hung up and my favourite too. It lovely to look at it every day. It's on my profile the 4th one. A turquoise and purple bargello, It actually looks much better on the wall than in the picture. I must now complete some more wip's and get them hung. Thank you sooo much for your recommendation. Pam
