stitch n ditch foot or zip bind foot

    Hi
I keep seeing these two feet in different catalogs. Does anyone have them? Are they the same thing? Do they work?
I'm thinking about taking the plunge and getting at least one of them, but I don't want to waste my $
    Thanks

I have a stitch in the ditch foot. It really works great.

I "test drove" a binding foot and returned it to the store. It would only work on something very thin, like if I wanted to put a binding on a single layer napkin. Of course, when I put binding on, it's on a quilt and quite a bit thicker. This little foot didn't work well for that. It was only about $50. I've seen a much bigger binding foot demo-ed at a show and it worked great. I'm guessing it's more than $50!

My machine came with a stitch in the ditch foot, and I LOVE it. My stitch in the ditch looks terrible without it.

After three years of owning my new pfaff, I finally got a stitch in the ditch foot...I love it. Makes stitching infinitely easier. Dorene

Dorene, if you think you are happy with your Pfaff stitch in the ditch foot, try the 1/4" foot with a "fence." It is GREAT!!!

Are you talking about the one by Martelli?

Brink, is yours from Janome or Martelli?

                  Roni,
If you have Ricky's Grand Finale DVD, he uses one of those feet to do the binding on his quilt. Don't you have a Bernina?

If you have a bernina 450 what is the best foot number to use for stitch in the ditch?

I do most of my sewing on a Bernina 1630 and I use foot #10 which is the edge stitching foot to stitch in the ditch.
