No, Myra! You can use this!! The blade is very well protected by little plastic guards, and it doesn't get near the fabric! The threads you are "unsewing" will slide between the guards (like eyebrow hair!) and be cut without any damage to the fabric (like your skin!!) Try it! You will like it!!

I have been ripping out quilting (with my eyebrow trimmer) that I have done on my mid arm the past few days. It has saved me ALLOT of hours!!!!! Found it works best on straight seams better than where I meandered.
