A bit of success for me - over christmas I was eating fairly much everything available without separating my carbs & fats as I have been doing for weight loss, including lots of tea and biscuits/cake snacks and I only put on a couple of pounds over the whole week. Since this is within the amount that the body naturally varies anyway, I am really chuffed, and I haven't felt bloated or anything - mind you I have really gone off Cadburys dairy milk chocolate - too sweet and it leaves an oily taste on the mouth  Still love bread & cakes though

Rosemary, I remember, many years ago, eating so many Cadbury Eggs at easter time that I actually can't even look at one now! Good for you, keeping a more-or-less even keel over Christmas.

Let's hear it for a more healthy New Year, we all deserve that.

I'm sure Christmas didn't help. New year, new start. How about a bit of exercise now to kick start your body into burning up more calories. I may even join you

och, i wish, i cant do much exercises, i try to walk, but in this weather (the netherlands, wet, wet, wet and cold...) is not exactly the best weather to walk. (i walk with rolator, dont know how you call it in english, that is for elderly people most of the time...that have difficulties walking).
well, i saw on the bbc a program that if you eat 600 cal a day for 2 days a week you will lose weight even if you dont exercise, but at home it is difficult to do it. may be i will go to the hospital to sit there in the lobby, it will be easy peazy not to eat at all...
thanks for the advice any way. i wish i knew how to solve it.

You'll probably make yourself really poorly as well!

To exercise you need to raise your heart rate and you don't need to walk to do that. Sit down, put on music you enjoy and follow a video online. How about this one Link

Wendy, what a great little video! I tried it while sitting in front of the computer and it was actually fun, low stress and really warms you up for another quilting session (of course, I just roll my chair around from the laptop to the sewing machine... ops: )

 I was as well but my husband saw me and dragged me out for a walk in the countryside.

It really did me good but I was so wheezy on hills that I know I've got to get serious about improving my health. So if its wet and cold ill use the video or ill be out walking each day. So that's my resolution and my goal is to repeat the walk without getting distressed

I remember doing a sit in a chair exercise tape with my mom some years ago and it really did make me sweat and tired! It works. Maybe I should give it a try again. Sure couldn't hurt.

Becky, you might've reach what is called a plateau, meanning, your body is not burnning enough calories, despite diet and/or exercise. To rev up your metabolism, besides exercise and 2L or more of water a day ( can be tea also), you can try a day of vegetables & juice fasting, or a day eating only apples and the following day mostly protein (fat free steak, chicken or fish) and green vegetables and no carbs. This works for me, hope it can help you
