                Thank you very much everybody!

Wendy, last few times I went on a plane I had to ask for an extension piece for the seat belt. Maybe that won't be necessary anymore some time in the future.

It's helping me a lot to share with you all, because feels like you are all right behind me. I have to admit that sticking to this new lifestyle is quite tough, and I need a lot of help and support to keep on track.

I never realized how much we are all surrounded by food and drink - in advertisements, in magazines, in shops. It's impossible to get away from it. And most of the time the items shown or on display are the sort of stuff I need to avoid right now. I nearly screamed tonight when I was watching crime series programme on tv, and the detectives were discussing the case whilst chewing on super-sized burgers, they then arrested somebody in a restaurant in the middle of a lovely meal, and finally got the killer as he was shopping at the deli counter of a supermarket.......aaarrhhhhh.....!

i understand it so well, about all the time everywhere food. i learn some thing to do may be it will help you guys!
especially now when i go to the supermarket and buy my veg and yogurt, all the display are christmas cookies, that doesn't help.
so ! what i do is
when i see those kind of things that i couldnt resist before, i look at them and think about the most disgusting thing that i ever ate, and feel the grouse texture in my mouth, and the revolting feeling in my throat, so i pass even of the things that are very tempting before, but now i look at them differently.
then before i feel pity for my self i feel the championship feeling in my head that i lost 9 kg or other supportive feeling that makes me feel good!

I went back to Weight Watchers 10 days ago, which had worked for me before. The first week, i ate a lot of chocolate, to calm my stress. Buy the way, that didn't work . This week, I am committed to following the program, which is about eating healthy. I know what you mean, Lorchen, about food being everywhere. It's hard to keep at a healthy lifestyle (whatever that is ) when our culture seems to be built around stuffing food into ourselves. I'm really glad that you brought this up, I also need a lot of support to do this. Who knew that my quilting community could be part of my support group?

Let's say YAY for our small daily victories!

A simple way or sorting out what to eat, is if it has sugar or an 'ose' (like lactose, dextrose, maltose etc) in it, don't eat it! I personally also avoid sweetners because I just can't stand the aftertaste, and think that sugar is probably better for the body than artificial sweetners. Not that sugar is good, just a more natural bad.

I like that, Rosemary: 'a natural bad' 8)

When I get into healthy eating mode or 'diet' mode, I ask myself if I am 'legally hungry?". It's amazing how many times I eat and I'm not really, 'legally' hungry.

At our guild pot-luck party tonight every one it taking their own plates, cups and utensils, so we don't have to spend the night doing up the dishes. I have chosen a luncheon sized plate, instead of a regular dinner plate. I think that helps, because it can look fuller with less on it. Now, I just have to watch what I put on it!

A friend of mine (who is slender) told me the other day how she decides if she is truly hungry or just craving something. She asks herself if she is so hungry, would green beans fill her up. She says when the answer is NO! she knows it's not the real deal.
