    I did finish something!

In February I finally finished my sis-in-law's snowflake quilt, which was her 2007 Christmas present. ops: I don't know why I let the quilting of it intimidate me for so long -- the quilt top just sat for most of those three years. When I finally got to quilting it, I enjoyed it so much! (And finished within two weeks.) I'm happy with how the quilting turned out. I also attached a hanging sleeve. And the finishing touch, which I used for the first time, Swarovski crystals! I put those on the sun-printed snowflakes. I love the sparkle they add! I'll probably use them on the peacock quilt that's currently in the works.

This is from Paper Piecing the Quick-Strip Way by Peggy Martin.

Really beautiful Heidi. I've loved looking at the crystals when I've seen them at quilt shows and have been tempted to buy the stuff for them.

Your quilt is really beautiful, Heidi, I'm sure your DSIL truly loves it!! I also like your idea of including a winter related quote on your label ~ very personalized. Nice finish!!

              Thank you, Margaret.
Darce, the tool wasn't expensive -- I believe it was around $15 at Hobby Lobby. I saw one for $20 at Micheal's. It's basically a soldering iron. I read reviews that the flat tips are the only useful ones (that the concave tips tend to get the crystals stuck in them), so keep that in mind if you decide to give in to temptation.
Thanks, Georgia. I love to include a quote -- usually it's a scripture verse, but I turned to poetry for this one.
              Agnes, I hope so.
              Kmouse -- thank you.

Thank you, ladies. It's always nice to hear your encouraging words.

              Love,
              Heidi

Thanks Barb, Judy and pegster. Yeah, this one was a little harder than usual to part with. But I'd like to make another for myself -- *SOMEDAY*

I've already commented on the wall hanging. Like it more each time I see it and I liked it right off.

Glad to see you got your signature up.
