    International Quilt Festival ~ Cincinnati

    Hello everyone!

Is anyone going to this event, the second weekend in April? I have my room booked, and signed up for a class but changed my mind and hope to switch. I used their website to make the class change but haven't yet received my mailed confirmation. I'm hoping to get into Sharon Pederson's Rose of Sharon class.

I love Cinci, and am tickled it will be here this year. Much easier to get around in than Chi-town, and certainly less expensive in general. But it sure does complicate things for all our WI gals who could more easily get to Rosemont, so wondering if I'll be the only QYW-er going?

Looking forward to being there. I'm not taking any intensive classes, mostly lectures and curious to see what this show is all about. This is my first time in Cincinnati. Any suggestions for some sightseeing? It looks like a very interesting city.

Terrific, Louise! It should be a lovely time of year there. In my experience, Spring arrives about 3 weeks earlier there than here in Southeast Michigan.

One recommendation I can make is the Zoo. It has had an excellent reputation for a very long time, and I am dying to get there myself. My company has interests in the area but I have never been able to stop, so far I have also heard good things about the Cinci Art Museum.

Mount Adams is a neighborhood with lots of attractions.

        Hello April,

I've been to the International Quilt Festival - Long Beach the past three few years. I've really enjoyed, neat quilts and great vendors. I know you will enjoy!

My son and DIL live in Covington, KY, just across the Ohio River from Cinti. We have been there several times and there a LOT to do and see. They gave me tickets to the festival for Christmas, but unfortunately I cannot attend and found out I can't transfer the tickets either. Anyway, the zoo is very good, there is an aquarium in Covington on the river, the art museum, train station, a new museum there is called, I think, The Underground Railroad Museum about the blacks trying to get to Cinti to freedom. I haven't been there, but son says it's very good museum to see and it's downtown. We also in October took a riverboat ride which was about 2 hours long, you get on also in Covington, the ride was awesome. Hope that helps, and it just about kills me to not be able to come.
