    Wednesdy - Hump Day

Despite my intentions of getting in my sewing room, it didn't happen for me yesterday. I do have a comfort quilt layered and ready to quilt -- it's small and a panel with some borders so it should go pretty quickly and then I can post it on Agnes's March finishes site. I am also hoping to get my mystery quilt finished by the end of the month. I still have blocks to put together on that one and do the pieced border. Bonnie Hunter is coming to our quilt guild in midApril and that is my deadline to have that quilt done.(or at least the top?) I am always better with deadlines. My niece is due in the next two weeks so once I learn what she had (boy/girl?) I'll whip up a baby quilt for her.
So hopefully I'll get my laundry finished this morning and hop in the sr for some power sewing. Hope you all have a good day.

Peggy--Firstly, I'm just trying to start the finishes thread same as I did on QYW. That's my organization jumping to the top again. Whoever has the desire to post their finish in any given month could start it.

It would be more difficult to achieve in quilting but years ago I knew a lady who crocheted baby afghans as gifts for newborns. She always had the main body ready in white and then added a few border rounds when the baby arrived. Within a day or two after baby's arrival there was a beautiful afghan with either a blue or pink border. She usually delivered it to the hospital for baby to go home in. Of course, in those days Momma and Baby had a few days before they were moved onward.

I'm hoping to start some more quilting this morning. I finished hand piecing another runner last night and am now in the process of layering it. I am also contemplating trying the no feed dog plate this morning. If I do it might make me get at more quilting before I get side tracked with piecing. I have been quilting with the feed dogs in place, not so much the factor of having to physically change the feed dogs but the fear of losing one or more more of the tiny screws when I have to change the dogs and plate. Then I would quite likely get caught up on the layered projects which now include two wall hangings and two lap quilts plus this newest runner before I add any binding. I have applique parts and knitting to work at while at the hospital during the afternoons. Hopefully, the hospital days are now very numbered. Things are looking brighter daily for a homecoming soon for Vern.

      Morning,

Agnes, I'm glad things for Vern look bright, continued prayers for you guys.

Peggy, good luck getting into your sewing room today!

As for me... I finally think I got out of my non-motivated funk... In that funk I got 3 books read however. Yesterday was the first day since last September that I designed 2 quilts from scratch. It felt good to get back into that. For some reason I always had a design in the back of my head when I was working and life was crazy with taking care of my parents. When I quit working nothing was coming to me. I just chalked it up that my brain was compensating with stress and now some stress was eliminated my brain didn't need that crutch???? Then last night I even laid a UFO out in the living room and started arranging a design since I was having a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do with those blocks. Plus this morning I basted a WH that has been bugging me since January! It was really nice to get started quilting that this morning. As for the rest of the day dm and I are headed up to Madison to visit my df. Hope to get back in the sewing room later. (Stacey – Wasn’t sure what you are up to today… wondering if you would be up for visitors or if you are too busy?) Hope everyone has a beautiful day!

      Happy Stitching,

      Margaret

Peggy, hope you were able to get into some sewing today.

Agnes, I am glad Vern is improving. That's a neat idea about how your friend was always prepared for a homemade baby gift!

Margaret, glad you are back in your quilting groove! But a recess has it place now and again too, of course, and I love to read myself. Look forward to seeing your designs!

I did some cutting at work today for a wallhanging I'm working on, and am just now on my way to sit and handstitch some more binding down.

Have a great afternoon and evening, everyone!

I got word today that temporarily for about a month or so, I am going to be working my main part time job at two different offices different days of the week. This is good becuase the one office is where I had been till my job got eliminated over a year ago now. Well, some things have not been getting done so the boss said he wants me to go there two days a week and get is straightened around. Since this office is 10 minutes/8 miles from my house, I am ALL FOR IT! The place I had to take the transfer to is 50 minutes/35 miles from my house. I am hoping working two days a week closer to home will get me more time in the sewing room! YEAH!!!!!!

Off to watch some basketball and do some applique on my Baltimore Album borders.
