Well, I hope it isn't too early to share this news..... one of my (8) sisters, nominated my parents for Wisconsin's longest married couples....and apparently they are! they celebrated 70 years last June.... so they are planning this big TO DO Feb 13th.... I am only concerned because my mom just got out of the hosptial/nursing home recovery care..... but otherwise pretty excited about the whole thing! They are planning a big media event and I just hope they can handle it all! Will keep you updated as I hear more!

Hey Patsy - Congrats to your parents! My husband's grandparents were married 63 years before Grandma passed away. Grandpa is still doing pretty well at 95! He will be 96 next Monday. I hope your parents' big to-do is a great success!

What a marvelous accomplishment, 70 years. Some relationships don't even last 70 days anymore. I'm glad that they are being honored. I hope everything goes well and they enjoy their special day.

What a great thing to celebrate! And a wonderful reason to have a huge family reunion without a death or a wedding! ha

Plans have been finalized...it is being held Sunday Feb 13th in Bloomer WI....WEAU 13 will be there covering....and our two local papers are doing articles... one is out already but their website is not completely open anymore, you have to pay to read it online now...and I don't have that option.... I have to wait til my paper comes via the mail tomorrow to see it! LOL We are all very excited about this...I had to call my mom yesterday for one of the papers and ask how they met and I think at 89 it is so cute that she still remembers "well, I first saw him when I was singing in the church choir and saw him walk into church and I wanted to meet him, so I went to a dance at Oak Grove the next weekend and one of my friends introduced us" Isn't that precious? LOL I'm sure I will have pics to share after Sunday! We have yet to be able to get ahold of our brother but all 9 of us gals will be there!
