    If You're Headed to Houston

...or already there, I just thought I'd share! My quilt Modern Pinwheels is hanging in the Meander Publishing booth (202) for Modern Quilts Unlimited! The quilt and instructions to make it are in the latest issue...and there are some FANTASTIC quilts in the booth by artists that I seriously just cannot believe that my little quilt is in the presence of!

I haven't even attempted to get a quilt entered into this show but it's on the bucket list for sure! I'd say this is the next best thing...

It's gorgeous and should be hanging in the show part!

Aww thank you Susan! Well that comment just made my day! Houston is definitely a show I'd like to get into!!! I don't put out the number of "show" type quilts that some do - I have small children at home and a long arm quilting business but I do what I can. I think just getting IN to Houston is one of my ultimate dreams!

It's lovely but I often think the quilts in booths are better

Pumpkin Patch Quilter. Your quilt is lovely. I think you told us your name but I've forgotten. Wish you had a signature.

Thank you all!! I am having fun in the process. I like creating very non-utilitarian quilts that are more expressions of art than quilts. The artistic aspect is what drew me to quilting. Showing quilts is new to me but proving to be a fun experience...and I sure hope to visit the Houston show in the next year or two.

Lois - I am sorry about that, I fiddled with my account a bit this morning but I was not able to figure out how to add a signature! I will try my best to remember to sign my name to posts - my name is Valerie Smith. I suspect this may be another feature that I have to work up to by posting more frequently.

Valerie, the instructions to creating a snazzy signature are here http://forum/forum-questions-and-sug...s-on-the-forum just be warned that the site takes a while to navigate and it usually takes 2 or 3 tries.

Thank you! I double checked to see if I was missing something...I'm pretty sure there is no signature option yet in my profile but I think it may be something I have to work up to in posts. I noticed when I joined until I posted several times it did not allow me to upload a profile image either. As soon as I am able I will be sure to add a signature!

Valerie, I'd be tempted to hold off on that for a few days. Maybe with the new webcite it will be easier. Don't think it could get trickier. Just a thought.

I seem to recall that it is a separate site to create the signature, which I saved to my computer and then uploaded it to this site. Unfortunately I have lost my original because the old computer died earlier this year But I could make a new one if I felt so inclined I suppose....
