    Eye Candy from Canada!

Here is a link to a slide show of the show earlier this year in Ailsa Craig. It show cased quilts (traditional, contemporary and miniature) from the UK.

I wish I could have gone. My quilts seem to travel more than I do these days.

Thank you very much for sharing this, Lorchen. What an inspiring show to watch with the first cuppa of the day.

Wow what a lot of quilts. Which was yours Lorchen? It had to be the lady with yellow hair

Wendy, two of mine went to Canada. No, I don't do ladies with yellow hair!
One of mine is the blue and yellow one with the star shapes. Can't describe the other one. I'll try and find pictures. But I'm rather busy at the moment. I didn't realize how much paperwork there is involved in retiring and how much evidence of this, that, and another is needed. Could do with a secretary for a couple of weeks.

Requested my retirement papers today and practising writing my notice it's a very strange feeling.

When I finish I shall come and take your little ones out with you

I can highly recommend retirement although you get very, very busy - you will wonder how you ever found time to go to work. If you think you will get more time to quilt forget it unless you are very, very good at saying NO! I try shouting that little word several times a day and I can, I really can when at home alone but it cannot get across my lips when I am on the phone or out and about and despite just having written it here I cannot put it into an e-mail. I think I need therapy - tell me if/when you are ready to join me and we can have a nice UK retreat surrounded by soft fabrics and tied up in threads while we help each other learning how to say that tiny little work with only two letters: NO

Marianne, how about saying, "Sorry, no, but I have an appointment at that time"

You don't have to say that it is an appointment with your fabric stash  8)

It can't come soon enough. I'm so tired now and want to get some time for me instead of falling asleep every evening after work and not sleeping at night worrying about problems at work and fretting I'm not coping and forgetting things and scared of letting people down. This isn't really me I'm usually on top of things and very positive about work. Need another holiday - life long one

My family haven't got kids at the moment Marianne so I'm waiting for my newly weds to have babies so I can say YES  They've been married 3 months they need to get a move on

Oh, Wendy, that's brilliant. Go for it! Making big decisions like this can be a little scary, but there is so much to look forward to!

                              Congratulations Wendy and Lorchen!

I've been retired one year as of tomorrow Sep 19th! It's been a fast fun year and now I'm actually finding time to quilt!
