Life has been very busy for all sorts of reasons. I'm at FoQ all four days and will spend some time on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday on the stand of the Traditional Group of the Guild (close to the entrance). If I'm not there, they should know where I am. If you send me a private message, I'll give you my mobile number. I try and enter something every year, knowing full well that I won't win anything, but feeling very strongly that these sort of shows need to show what 'normal' quilters are do, and not just what the 'stars' are up to. If you want to see what I have been up to, it's number 602 in the '2 Person' category (a new venture for me). It's my quilt, but I got Kathy Lee of The Bramble Patch to longarm quilt it. The piece was started a couple of years ago in a workshop with Patti Hempen. If anybody would like to meet Patti, let me know. She is a friend and will be at FoQ on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Ann, it's brilliant that you can come after all. You are very welcome to drag me to Starbucks for a treat!

School does not finish till halfway through next week here, so I'm still stressed. Roll on Sports Day on Monday (why? why? why?) and church services on Wednesday. Most of our special needs kids find these type of days very difficult to cope with. I expect to be trouble-shooting all the time.

Did something I could not have done a couple of years ago: Played football on the school field with a teenage boy who has Aspbergers and desperately needed to get rid of some energy. I was totally cream-crackered at the end, but I did it. Apparently I have a 'hot left foot' and 'must have been a decent player when I was young'. Thank you, Jordan!

I'm in the same hotel as Pam (will get in touch with you, Pam - promise!)

I know I'm still much too quiet here, but I still have too much 'stuff' to do. I did manage a long phone call with Pam today though. We have each others mobile phone numbers, we stay in the same hotel, and Pam knows what I'm up to. SWo, with Granny Pam's (gorgeous brandnew grandson!) help I hope I won't miss anybody.

I have all of my tickets booked and am almost ready for the show starting this Thursday 7 July 2014. We hope to have a TQS dinner on Friday evening and we will have a meet and greet just inside the main entrance to the show near the Quilter's Guild of Great Britain stand each day at 1pm for those who wish to come and of course we will take photos to post on here. We know that many of you will be here with us in spirit. We will raise a glass or two to you all on Friday evening.

Everyone have a brilliant time and hopefully post lots of photos.

I am really sad I won't be going. My sister and I usually go together and I organise everything but this year she couldn’t go and someone else volunteered to arrange everything as she wanted to go with me ……………….. Needless to say she didn’t so by the time I knew she hadn’t done anything everywhere was booked up for the show. Won’t depend on anyone again, that is for sure.

Anyway, as I said enjoy yourselves and don’t spend too much money

Pam I won't be staying for the evening. I'll have friends with me and it's my birthday so hoping my husband will be waiting to spoil me :?

Sad I'll be missing Lorna and Rosemary too but you'll have a great time, so have a drink for me too

And I'll rely on getting organized by Pam.

Doubly gutted Maureen as I was really looking forward to meeting you. Maybe we will meet the next time I am in Glasgow for Celtic Connections or something.

We will definitely raise a glass to absent friends - maybe even two. (Water Anne, I am talking about water! )

Not long now.....is the FOQ ready for us??

Anne, it most probably isn't ;-)

As far as being organised is concerned, I have been called that twice in the last few days, when it involves other people I have to have everything in order or else things turn into a shambles. As far as life in general and my sewing room, total chaos

                            We will all have fun!
