Who is/isn't going to 2013 Houston Quilt Show

I want my TQS friends know that I will not be in Houston this year. Still battling Siatica and muscle spasms. Will miss one and all. Margarita

Margarita, I won't be able to be there either. My DH is battling with siatica also and is just miserable.

My time is spent with the 99 year old mother. Fortunately she is in good health but too much for husband who supervisors her breakfast.

You know I'll be there, working in the education office, 3rd floor!

Oh to live so close that it is only a hop skip and a jump and to be able to plan to be there year after year after year. After last years feasco (SANDY) it was hard to even think about making those plans again. Then as it turns out there are a number of family situations on both sides of this big country of ours that could demand my presence at almost any time. I know I will get there someday and maybe more than once. I'd love to plan to go some year my international TQS quilting friends (Lorchen, Chinese Whisper Sisters, Terry from Canada and more) could be there. Another year will be better for me. But to be sure I will enjoy it from afar this year and will be quite grateful for personal reports from all my TQS friends. Thank you in advance. Have your cameras ready and your finger nimble on your keypads to keep us all well informed.

I am not going to be at Houston this year either. Life at the Rowland household has been a roller coaster of ups and downs and we are now on an up so we feel good for now. I had a major heart episode (not a heart attack) but ventricular tachycardia. Last Monday the doctors did a procedure that is supposed to be a cure so the event will not happen again. So for now all is well.

I wish we could come to Houston again this year but I know it is not on the agenda. Maybe next year. Have fun everyone, shop lots for me as I am the "shopping queen" and I miss that. Especially touching and feeling all of Ricky's hand dyes. And spending a fortune for a small bag of stuff from Superior. But there is the internet and I can get what I need (not necessarily what I want when I am in Houston)

So have fun everyone and know I am with you in spirit. Hugs, Ann

I will be recovery from surgery, but hopefully in another year or two. The UK ones sound good, could combine a trip abroad and check into all the quilt events at the same time. But think Houston might be more doable.

yes, I am a dreamer...

Well we all have to have our dreams - it relieves the living nightmares. Terrie good luck with the surgery. Ann I am glad that you are over that heart episode and hope it is now fixed. Margarita I am sorry to hear that you are still suffering with sciatica, such a painful condition. I won't be at Houston either - it's a bit too far for this year. Maybe next year? See y'all there someday. Those of you who are going don't forget to take photos and post like Lois says, we love to see the event if we can't be there.
